Yay, preliminary happiness, this chapter was really sweet, im glad that spike and buffy didn't draw out the masochistic guilty angst for too long, i mean im sure they both still feel guilty and it'll come up, but im glad they at least talked to each other and stuff. Part of the cliffhanger we knew before .. Spike left Buffy for Dru .. or for his son, to save him for Dru. But he still has with Dru... I hope Buffy will let him suffer for a while before she takes him back - but that she does take him back... Looking forward to the next update!

I know, that most of the readers won't agree with me, but I can't bring myself to feel sorry for him. O.k. it was a difficult situation. I just don't feel that there was no way for him to explain things to Buffy before hightailing out of her life. If he would have stopped to use his brain he would have found a solution. But maybe that's just me and the fact that I really hate people who start acting like headless chicken when faced with problems and creating a total mess in their wake... Enough of me rambling...;-) Your writing is great!

I think the thing that bugs me most about Spike in this story is that he's only thinking about things as they affect him. True, he thinks of Nigel, but he NEVER things of Buffy. That whole last scene was all about his own suffering and how 'he'll never be complete' without her.

Author's Response: Yes, but sometimes its what you have to think about in order to survive, if he really thought about Buffy he might have not been able to do what he felt was right at the time and then lost his son forever.......maybe driving a wedge between them......but then again, it's my muse's fault....I'm not sure how I would have acted in his shoes.....I just listen to my nameless muse. But I'm happy your sticking with it......
