This was just a little bit off, but a nice try. No one, and most assuredly the scoobies, would have let the babies go to nursery without being accompanied. A new mother would never sleep for five hours! Her breasts wouldn't let her, her bladder wouldn't let her, her sanitary napkin would not let her! The nurses would have been by to check on the babies and or mother. As soon as the children were located, sun or no, the scoobies would have set out for them. A lot can happen in an hour! Spike would simply have met up with them or donned a hundred blankets! Also, he would not have left Buffy in the hospital - daylight has never been that hard for him to traverse.
