NOOO!!!! i dont want them to break up or not be together, i really hate angst but it does make the story better. i reallly hope that they stay together and that angel and her dont gert back together even for a second its discusting(sp?) i LOVE this story and am so HAPPY that u updated. i really hope taht they become a familly, dawn and them and that buffy doesnt leave him agian. they belong together and should stay that way. please update as soon as u can, i cant wiat to read more and find out wat hapens between them and ange and see if they stay together( they better). thanx

Author's Response: As far as Spike and Buffy go...they're pretty much in this together for the remainder of this fic. Yes, they will have their problems, especially when Buffy finds out about the horse scheme. I wonder what happened to Drusilla - did Spike simply lost her? Or happened something to her (means - she got killed or so)... Oh no I see you wrote it. Poor Dru. I'm glad Buffy sees now the truth behind Angel - in this case what he did to Dawn's life. Hopefully it is enough for Buffy to think twice to stay his girlfriend. Buffy singing for Dawn? Author's Response: Thank you. Angel was the one that set up the tragedy with Ted, but, ultimately Ted chose to do it. Threatened, yes, but chose it. Ted threw Dawn's considerations aside when he got mixed up with Angel. We all do this, we make our own decisions and ultimately pay the consequences for them. Drusilla was doomed from the start, sadly, and William did what felt he had to. He made the decision to do avenge Drusilla, then made the decision to get mixed up in illegal doings. Right or wrong, when 'we' choose what we do? We'll pay the price for it. Sigh, it's tough to be a human, huh? Thanks again, spuf

I don't get Buffy's logic here. She leaves Spike to what teach him a lesson about how to be a better person yet she gets with someone worse. What makes it worse is that Spike takes her back just like that. There has to be some kind of backlash for Buffy for leaving Spike. Spike isn't a bad person he's a puchover. I don't know if that was how it went in the movie but this seems a bit hard to believe.

Author's Response: I understand...Buffy's logic is confusing at times, but them I felt it always was. Probably a side affect of being a slayer. In the movie, Spike's character was basically a cheapskate and Buffy's character couldn't deal with it. Her character 'was' a gold digger through and through. His character was not really a bad guy, either, but, a pushover for Buffy's character and he still loved her. The character Angel is based on was a rich and powerful ganster type. I didn't want to make Spike a cheapskate or Buffy a real gold digger so I settle for a compromise. I know it's somewhat unbelievable but the movie was made in the 30's and was more fluff then hard edged mobster stuff. Damon Runyon wrote the original story (Guys and Dolls too) and this fic is based on that genre. Yes, Angel is worse then Spike, but Buffy doesn't love Angel, nor does she care about his heart or soul. She does however, love Spike and wants hiim to realize what a better person he is then what he does. Spike is not a saint in this story, his past is cloudy at best. I just don't write it all down because I want everyone rooting for him where Buffy is concerned. Dawn is the catalyst, she's the bond that Spike and Buffy can have to come back together. I promise, things will get angstsy again, but this is Spuffy. Thanks for reading and your insight into the story. spuf

AWWW how sweet, i loved it. im so happy that they got together and really hope that they stay that way. i love this story so much and am so happy that u updated.aww its going to be so sad wen they tell dawn about her dad and that hes not coming back but i hope that they stay together and become a familly. also i thought it was terible wat happened to dru , im glad that william got him back for it but i no that he still feels like it wasnt enough. i think its so wonderful how there back together and cant wait to read there relationship progress more. please update as soon as u can, i cant wait to read more and see wat happens next between buffy and spike and wat happens with dawn. thanx
