A great twosome chappie that wraps them up in warm, familiar banter and bed-clothes proximity and the promise of passion teetering on the brink ........ and then she becomes canon 2 Buffy again. Confused, alarmed, besotted, inarticulate - and running.

Oh, dear.......that girl does love to torture herself. Not satisfied unless she's miserable. One of the things she and Angel shared in common, and made them a bad match. Whereas Spike is almost ever the eternal optimist.

Yippeeee! You're back with this fave of fave stories and with a chapter of Spuffy in its purest form and, as such, charming. He most definitely 'sees' her and it is so great to have a Buffy that, for all her youthful naivete can still 'see' Spike for all that he is, not just what he is.

Awesome update. Very smart of Buffy to want to be just friends until things settle down a bit in her head. Now the question is, can they be close without actually touching each other? Nary a kiss nor a cuddle, but these two have come on leaps and bounds; she talked, he listened. She asked, he complied. Simple. Well, no it's going to be far from simple, but the mere fact that they have managed this holding pattern, got there without too much explanation and absolutely no argument shows how much each wants - what they both want. Your faltering, very Buffyesque dialogue and Spike's thoughts give us a clear sight and feel of their ongoing dance: still electric and still very, very much on.

Well, more like friends who date, cuz you know Spike's still going to try to court her. It's his nature. But talking about their likes and histories is good...sharing the childhood stuff, and tastes, and memories...

Buffy makes a valid point about only being 17. She's never even lived on her own before, let alone had an adult relationship. She and Angel's thing was still very high school. However twisted it might have gotten with Dru, Spike for all instances has been married before......he's the divorcee who's just picked up a child bride in Vegas. Different places in life.
