I've just read this from the beginning and you are doing a fabulous job with very difficult subject (to read, let alone write). The way that you have - I'm really struggling with how to express what I mean here. Taking William's locker room experience you didn't go into it in explicit detail making it gratuitous but you didn't just gloss over it either. It was expressed with sensitivity, allowing us to almost fill in the gaps if we needed to but it carried enough weight. Spike and Buffy are showing how resilient the human spirit is. It can be beaten and broken but it can mend and something beautiful can be created from all of this horror. Liam isn't going to win. Not sure that "looking foward to more" is really the right expression to use in this instance but hopefully you know what I mean and it doesn't leave me feeling down, they have hope.

Author's Response: Thank you. It's a hard story, I realize that, and it's going to dredge up some really unsettling things -- for a lot of people -- but I think it's a story that needs telling. I do know exactly what you mean, so no worries about not expressingly it clearly. And you're right, Liam is not going to win -- they've already proven that but just escaping. . . and finding each other. Thanks so much for your review, it made my day.

It's kind of hard to review a story such as this, but I will try. I give you kudos for having the courage for writing a story such as this. It's never easy, even if you haven't lived through it. If you have, it's even worse, 'cause I know from personal experience, that it has the power to bring back demons, even those that have been dealt with. As always, your writing is flawaless...and conveys the power & the gravity of the subject matter perfectly. It's not fun subject matter, but it's real and it happens. I'm here as long as you're writing it.

P.S. Have to say that I absolutely love the ending to this chapter. I thought the love that they share was the light at the end of the tunnel. I know the baby is a manifestation of that love, but it's so much more than that. As she said, it's hope personified, in so many ways, and I feel strongly, that is especially so for Spike.

The demons strike at the oddest moments -- even after you think you've recovered -- sometimes years later. It colors everything you do and everything you don't. Relationships suffer -- even platonic ones. I'm so glad you got what Buffy was trying to say to Spike, about the baby. . that means so much! Thanks again for your wonderful review.

I like Spike's reason why he only brings Buffy wild flowers. I'm so glad for Buffy she found Spike.
He knows it himself, what it can do to you. Good he left before he broke. I guess he never told anybody, Angelus was (is) still working at the school.
The baby will connect them both; as Buffy said, Hope for them both. ~ Loved it.

This fiction really intrigues me. I could tell that this will be full of angst but i dont care. As long as it is well written and necessary for the storyline then it is fine. So far i like it. i wanted to know more about their story so please continue.

So Darla is her sister and it looks like the baby her niece. It’s so sad…that monster must be her sister’s boyfriend or husband? Darla knows too. They’re all stuck aren’t they. Thank god for Spike. I can’t wait to see how it continues on. Poor Buffy and Spike. You’re doing an amazing job. I know it must be hard to write something of this nature. I’ll be looking for the next chapter.
