ok i dont get it. you put charlotte through all that just suddenly bring her back to los angeles like nothing. you could do better that this. i like the story from begining up to this last chapter. you didnt explain how charlotte found the demon or how the demon knew what she was meant to be. how the powers that be play a part in all this. you need to come up with a couple more chapters . this is just my opinion. the rest is up to you. like i said i liked this story.





































































































Author's Response: She had the download of Spike's memories - we already knew that. That means she knows how to get to the demon he went to to get his soul in Africa. Just like the demon was expecting Spike, it was expecting Charlotte. As for the PTBs - superhuman+vision=seer. It's all pretty clear if you read between the lines.

This really was a great fic with a unique story line! I've read through some of the reviews, and while I don't agree with a ll of them, I do see where most of them are coming from. My suggestion, if I can be so bold, is to possibly add a 'Spike/Other' warning on this story. I realize they arn't really 'together' at any point, but it might help people to be prepared for all the Spike/Charolette interactions that most Spuffy readers arn't used to.

The typical Spuffy fics this site is used to is a Spike that worships Buffy, and doesn't look twice at another girl. This Spike just respects Buffy, and still has wondering eyes. There is NOTHING wrong with that, but some people don't always go for that type of thing, If they had a 'spike/other' warning at the beginning, they may not be so... shell shocked, towards the later chapters and ending. :)

Author's Response: Hi. There are already Spike/Other warnings on the individual chapters, and I did make sure that Spike's vision was solely on Buffy until he was needed to help. As a mature adult, he's going to have other people in his life that he cares about besides his girlfriend - nothing wrong with that. He needed that kind of self-respect back. Anyone who reads my stories knows I don't write a Buffy whipped Spike puppy. If people won't be careful enough to read a chapter warning, then it's not my problem. I read this story and can't stop (mostly because i feel sorry to buffy). Umm..graet plot, but it felt like the season 7 never exist. Spike n Buffy really trust each other in season 7, and she also defend spike in front of Dawn. So, yes, i feel sorry for buffy in this story. She seems really left behind. Sure, charlotte is a nice girl, but she's not live in Sunnydale's abnormality right? So, please, be easy on buffy. Great plot though. This is my 1st review so please don't be mad *blink*.. Looking forward for next chapter

Author's Response: Thanks for sharing your opinion. Let me explain - there's a difference in trusting for Spike and Buffy between being comrades in arms, and being in a relationship. Buffy knew what a good man he was now (with a soul), but Spike didn't get to see enough that he would trust her with his *heart*. That's the specific lack of trust I mention in the story. They trust each other in war, and there's even a beginning of true friendship, but not enough evidence, yet, to be completely vulnerable as you are in love. Buffy waited too late to say that she loved him, so Spike couldn't 100% trust that she meant it in the same way he had loved her for so long. I hope that clears it up for you. Don't feel too sorry for Buffy - she's doing okay, really. :)

i get the feeling that some reviewers are complaining but i would just like to say f**k em i am really enjoying the fic and find it a refreshing change to get afic with plot and not just lots and lots of porn i can totally see where you are coming from and while like everybody else i would just like to jump spikes hot fit body the way you are writing it is more believable they would take it slowly after everything thats gone before and i'm really glad you have given spike his balls back as most authors tend to make him too beaten and i dont know about you but i fell for the big bad not some whipped soppy big girls blouse

This fic was obviously written as nonSpuffy and trying to turn it into a Spuffy fic (just so you can post it at Spuffy websites) is not working for me. You are a talented writer so I will keep an eye out for any truly Spuffy fics you may write in the future.

Author's Response: Um, excuse me? How do you know what I meant to do from the beginning? Spike and Buffy were always meant to come together in this story - whether it was permanent or not was undecided initially. Did you even READ the Thanksgiving and Christmas chapters???? Spike's hardly seen Charlotte much by the time we get to New Year's Eve, and that's because most of his time has been with BUFFY.

This is a great story ,but I don't like all this Charlotte busuness, I like charlotte herself but unlike some of your other reviewers I want him only with Buffy and reading some of the Spike /Charlotte scenes has been hard. Thank god this is a Spuffy site. This fic seems to put their relationship in the back drop while Charlotte is forefront. But it is good.

Author's Response: Just remember that Charlotte is *plot* - she's a case to solve, besides being Spike's friend. It's a gen fic with Spuffy, not a relationship fic with a side of plot. If that's not your thing, then feel free to stop reading and go to another story. I think Spike's a big enough boy to have multiple people he's close to in life besides Buffy.

I'm all caught up to chapter 5. Great story! I love Charlotte and am very interested to find out what's behind her ability to have everyone tell her their deepest darkest secrets as soon as thhey spend any time with her. Love seeing Spike be confident again; I won't be unhappy if he doesn't end up with Buffy. You are doing a good job of expressing her insecurities, control-freakiness; and whininess. Buffy nasty is a whole other level of unattractive.
