Hmmm... yeah, plum forgot about the whole Initiative being secret thing (must be the exams I'm preparing for - messing with my brain they are!). I did guess Riley before you wrote his name, though, so at least I have some consolation :P.

Sorry, I had thought this all happened after Riley got caught with the vamps. As far as I remembered Buffy only became aware of Spike's feelings after Riley left.
Ah, well... no matter... it was just a rather unpleasant surprise to find him here. And this sheds a new light on the goings on in a previous chapter when Buffy and Spike went on a date as payment for his information. So, basically she was cheating on Riley (not that I think that he doesn't deserve it or anything). That does raise the question though... what is Riley's secret that Buffy is aware of?

Author's Response: well okay, from what i remember Buffy had a vague idea in s5 while Riley was still there that Spike had feelings for her. Remember Spike coming to get her and the classic line "are you naked under there?" was uttered. yeahhhh....anyways, yeah, i can't have it lovey-dovey all the time like i want so i had to bring in some angst. and it wasn't technically a date. more like a patrol. Spike just ate along the way, lol. oh the secret is the Initiative! u didn't get that? remember, he has to keep it a secret and have everyone think that he's a TA. i was hoping it wouldn't be that vague but i really didn't want anyone to know who it was till she said his name. cuz u thought Angel didn't u?? :o) yeah, i wanted everyone to think Angel. hope i worked, lol. glad u liked it!!

Author's Response: she found the demon in the book. everyone else was there, they just weren't in the scene. they were fighting Dak.

Giles was very supportive here; I like that. But Spike being caught is bad. I didn't understand why Dak wants Spike to give up Buffy but maybe we'll read more later (about the why).

Author's Response: well as you know, Spike was always throwing himself on the proverbial handgranade for that chick! remember when he first fell in love with her? he was opening doors and always jumping on the bad guy for her. stupid crap like that. just following along with his normal "will bleed for Buffy" nonsense. hope you enjoyed!!!
