I'm enjoying this fic but I have problems with 2010 Buffy because she has stolen the start of their relationship from them. Spike has experienced them sleeping together loving each other and I don't think it was OK for her to give him that much before his Buffy got to do that with him. I just feel really disappointed in her behaviour because going to him to reassure him and give him hope was right but this was just selfish, it never had to go that far. Hmmm, the only consolation is that 2010 Buffy is his Buffy so they are as selfish as each other effectively so she can hardly complain but it stole something from Spike too.
Author's Response: The trouble was that their relationship would never have started if past-Buffy had anything to do with it. She had to learn how good that relationship could be and what she would be missing without it. You could say that she deserved to lose the start of their relationship by the way she’s been a bitch to him so far.
Maybe 2010 Buffy sleeping with him did steal something from Spike, but at that point he needed actual proof that Buffy would eventually love him. He was so beaten down and near-suicidal that words would not have convinced him. Only her physical surrender to him would give him the proof he needed. I don’t think he would mind losing the start - after all, he ended up with his own Buffy loving him, which is all he ever wanted. Time jumps do have their cost.

Author's Response: Thank you! This was my first real story. I posted ‘Fated’ first because it was short and so got finished sooner. But that was more of a sketch, just getting the two of them together. This had a real beginning, middle and end. :)

Like the story but it's obviously written by a woman. Don't get me wrong, love the story but the guy remains the faithful dog and keeps away from past Buffy when he realizes she isn't his Buffy but the future Buffy gets to troll around day and night with past Spike. I like the fact that the guy is portrayed so faithfully and the truth that women are natural cheaters shown clearly. It's Spike yes... but not her Spike. Would think she would be faithful like future Spike but then again all men hope their women will be faithful.
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the story! But that's a tad misogynist of you to say that women are natural cheaters. Future-Spike would have continued to sleep with past-Buffy if she had loved him, but at this point she didn't. Future-Buffy slept with past-Spike because he really is her Spike, just younger, and did love her. I honestly don't see it as cheating! It's the same person, but love is what make the difference.

What a great story this is. I love stories where Buffy realizes that Spike and her can be good together. My heart breaks for Spike when he was trying to be good and the scoobies continue treating him bad.

Author's Response: I'm delighted you liked it! I'm afraid there won't be a sequel to this. It seemed to end naturally where it did. But I have written more stories and will be posting them over the next week.
