God, I am so completely dense. I got this story mixed up with Into the Night. I thought I was reading that one until I nearly got to the end...lol! That would explain why I was so confused about him being 38, and thinking that he's wanted her for years. I was all, years, didn't they just meet? So yeah, I was actually thinking he was a vampire in this one, then it all started to make sense...lol! I think I might be a bit out of it. Anyway, really loved the chapter. I was thinking about the lack of protection. I wonder if this is gonna come back to bite them in the ass.
