Awe :) He is indeed still around. Very supportive even if Buffy didn't want him. Ah gems! Small to take with you but very expensive. Spike made the best of it.
Seems Buffy's timing was right with the claim. Angel discovered them, right? Thank god too late for him to stop it *gg*
Loved the end :) The claim stopped Giles (and Angel) from staking Spike; the Gem will make sure it stays this way. Love thoughtful Spike with the rings.

It's good that the story is so long; it takes times till it's over (but sadly we're nearing us the end *pout*)
Tariess is one of the few leaders that thinks so. And in a battle, one leads from the front, not the back. But I think his people (soldiers) admire him for that.
And I'm happy for them both, enjoying their time together. It' 'easier' there for them, no pressure from the Scoobies &Co.
I didn't understand the meaning of the scale first. So they can go back earlier? Really kind of a revenge because Buffy wants to go back but not Spike. So bittersweet when Spike declared his love to Buffy but she didn't (couldn't) answer him. Well she couldn't have stayed forever there but still, sad.
Sad end of the chapter; indeed it will be only Spike that has to face (and live) with the consequence, not Buffy. Him not taking the Gem should make her thinking.
Now it's up to hear how it will end.
I hope she will come back to her senses.
Sadly I have to work again (and late too) tomorrow. Will look out for an update then. Hopefully for an happy end.
