have been away and am behind on this story! but now i get to read several chapters at once. yay!
i loved the image of them lunging for each other and just holding tightly for a bit. making sure the other is actually there, working through the surprise, making a final decision? maybe all three.
the bits with the lights are also way cool.
can't wait to see how the passion continues to burn.

Well that is for sure not a friendly dragon we have here.
Oh, no accident? Baniel did seek out the dragon on purpose. Sadly he chose the wrong one.
Good solution they found; it makes no sense to try to kill the dragon because they don't have the weapons to do it. Sending him back it the best solution. And even better if they (Buffy and Spike) get a vacation before they have to go back. (I wonder if the time is different - if 60 days have gone by in Sunnydale too.
Seems as if Buffy needs after all the 44 days to get to know Spike better. :)

Author's Response: An intelligent enemy is so much more interesting. And Buffy? Never wants to even see emotional issues, right?

Oh no! Why can I hear Sean Connery's voice in my head now? Is it like Draco (Dragonheart) or like a Pernese ("Dragonriders of....") dragon? 'Cos it sure seems like it is "jumping between" places/locations, etc...especially with the ozone. Is it a female/Queen? What w/all the eating, and being golden (Pernese), but then again if it were that, to be firebreathing it wouldn't be female and gold---which would be more like a Draco...and apparently it's intelligent, so not so much like those in "Dragonslayer" (which I ever so got a kick out of Spike's reference earlier!). Can't wait for more, and it's kinda bittersweet watching them both fall for the other, yet Buffy usually cause Spike
hurt by not returning his feelings enough to disregard what the others back in SunnyD might think about the two of them together. It IS sweet to see her when she does comfort Spike, with the little touches and gentleness, but she comes off as simply letting him be her bug under her microscope much of the time, seeing what makes him tick...tho' when the genuine feelings DO come thru it IS nice...
Again, can't wait for MORE!

Author's Response: I did read a lot of McCaffrey when I was a teenager, but I'd forgotten most of it. I was thinking of Tolkien's dragon in 'The Hobbit'! Buffy's still in denial and amazed by Spike, but she's getting there. Thank you so much for liking it! The world and plot building is new to me and I wasn't sure whether I'd be any good at it!
