So Buffy is still having slayer dreams even here? And of course the vampire who hadWilliam chained up has to be Angelus...
No? NO? Explanation please.....

Author's Response: Thank you and yes that was Angelus. In much later chapters, I will add to canon of what is known of William's turning and sadly her dream forms some reality.

The nightmare even came true... Elizabeth still remembers a lot of her future (Buffy) in her dreamworld.
Awe, how romantic, William's surprise! But Elizabeth better explains now why she said no.

Author's Response: Thank you. Yes the warlock only blurred her memories to make them a part of her subconcious so she dreams. the no will definitely be explained.

Enjoyed the interlude. :)
But they could get easily caught like when they were disturbed before. But it was hot.
Justin is a good friend it seems and loyal too. William could use the help; who knows when Wellington will try something again.

Author's Response: Thank you. Getting caught is half the fun for them. Justin and Wellington will definitely come into play in the future. Justin is based on someone I once knew.

Great Chapter! Please update soon.

I had a feeling her insecurities would prevent her from saying yes, especially after her dream. Hopefully she says yes though. She has a year in this time period to be happy and she should seize the moment.

Author's Response: thank you. That is a very valid point but she doesn't realize that because of the trick the warlock played on her. don't discount William's persuasiveness yet.

Elisabeth & William are on an expiration date and her turning down his proposal is heartbreaking. Hope that William's stubborn streak runs long and hard in pursuing his lady love. Look forward to more.

Author's Response: Thank you. I debated whether or not to have her say yes and decided that she wouldn't all things considered. However, William has become a more forceful man.

Interlude in the park was very hot, and I really enjoy Justin teaching William to fight, because we can see Spike emerging from him.
Here's the deal: you keep writing this, and we'll keep showering you in adoring reviews, okay? ;-)

Author's Response: thank you. That is exactly it. Instead of such a division between Spike and William, I wanted to show that they are quite alike. You got a deal! I enjoy hearing from everyone. I just got back from vacation so that's why the slow response.

William is evolving in all good ways and Justin sounds like a good friend who has his best interests to heart. Self defense is really a good balance to the intellectual part of William and since Buffy is his muse, he will soon be quite the man she deserves! Loved the passionate side of William in the park and Elizabeth should be proud that she has made him realize his manly potential. Look forward to more.

Author's Response: thank you. You picked up on all the concepts that I wanted to portray in their relationship as to his evolving. Victorian times were so oppressive and in canon Spike despised most of what his times stood for and hence his rebellion in his accent and the entire punk thing. That's essentially what I'm trying to show in William.

Love, love it all! I was a little surprised in the park, but then remember this is after the Victorian period.

Justin is a great friend and the believable details of his life are wonderful though subtle. I like the ideas behind the training and the thrills William is learning to enjoy, with Elisabeth and with Justin.

Author's Response: Thank you. This takes place a few years before William is turned. I'm so glad you like Justin and you are absolutely correct. Because of Justin and Elisabeth, her moreso, William is exploring different things and sides to his personality.

“I thought you were a gentleman.”

“I took a short recess.”

I love this exchange so much. And I'm dying to see her obliterating William's 'dam of decorum.'

Author's Response: Thank you. I try very hard to make snappy dialog to honor the Great Joss.

Awe, they are having such a good time. Loved Buffy teasing William.

Elizabeth may have very well awakened the beast inside of William with his jelousy. Cave William may just grab his woman and let her know who will ravage her virginal body! Look forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response: Thank you. Cave William might just surprise Buffy in ways she never expected.

I've been very curious about how Spike translated into William, as Buffy is still Buffy even though she acts more properly, somehow understanding etiquette, and isn't as outrageously bold and blunt as our Slayer would have been. Though the time period is displayed wonderfully, this isn't time travel with William before he's turned--it's Spike sent into this strange vacation, not quite knowing what he's capable of. I'm interested to see how Sid's reasons and abilities are explained behind the adventure, but for now I'm just enjoying the romance.

Author's Response: Thank you for the review. There will be a chapter or two much later on the transformation of William to Spike based on some psychology. William in my world isn’t weak mentally. He’s repressed and it’s mostly because of the times. My view of the soul might be a bit different than some think but can still fit canon. The Spike vacation will come to fruition as well. Buffy’s etiquette will be explained as to how she knows all this. All the lose ends will tie together in a way that I hope folks will like and be pleasantly surprised. All I will say is that Sid is a unique individual who is more than he appears. Yay – More to come on the Romance.

Good for William to doubt the rascally Wellington's word and defend his butterfly. I'm glad William has such a staunch friend as Justin.

I liked William's actions, they were very Spikish, and seeing as how Wellington drugged Elisabeth, it is very believable he'd act that way.
I like Justin, it's good that William has someone he can trust.
Can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thank you. Definitely Spikish. Spikish - yes. My interpretation of Spike and William is that they are NOT two different personalities but something different. That will be unveiled throughout the piece.

I definitely liked Justin, and think he sounds like a great friend. Unquestioningly backed William up, thought quickly to get Wellington's friends going the wrong way, and that final 'accidental' smack with the cane was perfect!

William's faith in the type of person he believes his love to be was perfect, and I'm glad he didn't blindly bow down to Wellington's manipulations. The violence might have been a little out of character for William, but I'm glad Wellington will have at least a few bruises for his trouble. Disgusting enough that he wanted to break two hearts and take advantage of Buffy emotionally, but drugging her on top of her sadness so he could rape or at least touch her while she couldn't stop him makes him truly vile. I hope the arrogant jackass is exposed later, just because the fact that money and position lets him get away with thinking he can do whatever he wants with no consequences irritates me.

William's care for Buffy let his feelings sweep him up and he shrugged off propriety. Yay! Definitely looking forward to more.

Author's Response: Thank you. There’s more to Justin than meets the eye. Some of his background will be revealed later and it may surprise you. Yay – You liked the cane smack. That was my favorite to write. William’s Faith – My interpretation in love is that you have to have faith in the other. Not necessarily blind faith but giving someone the initial benefit of the doubt, at first and at least. That’s where I believe a strong love grows into and from. More of Wellington will come up. You will see that it is more jealousy of William’s happiness and the need to possess the ultimate conquest in Elisabeth. You hit his character right on the head. Sadly, those were the times where a title got you everything. Their views on orphans would horrify you.
