Wow. So, that was powerful. Totally made me cry. When Buffy died, it happened so suddenly, I didn't really process it. But having Spike still be able to see/talk/make love to her made it so heart-wrenchingly poignant and God, but that was really, really powerful. It was the perfect ending--in a total teary-eyed and depressing way. But, truly, the perfect ending. Excellent story!!!

I'm glad he let the last watcher live. We really cannot know what his relationship is to his slayer, but I'd like to believe there is love there, and that the next slayer did not deserve to have people she cared about taken away from her, just because they caused so much pain for Buffy. I do truly hope they are at peace. It is time. Thanks for this one.

Well! That was surreal! I was reading and reviewing WHILE mover dudes brought loads of my stuff into my house and I ordered them where to put it (and discovered how much they'd broken). SO! Because of that I was too scattered to write a review for this last chapter! But!
I really liked it! I did not expect this kind of ending, even going into the last few chapters. But it felt solid and real. I don't know when an ending has reminded me more of "Wuthering Heights" and hell, that's a classic so that's good! Well done!
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm sorry your stuff got broken. Also, I haven't read Wuthering Heights since grade school, so the similarities weren't intentional, but that is an amazing compliment. That was my favorite book for a few years, the one that made me want to become a writer, actually.

The shifting dynamics between the two of them is very interesting. My favorite bit was that with Travers. I know a lot of people don't like Stephen King, but I do and I thought the gore was Kingesque and very well done!

Ok, so here it is, you were right to go this way. This whole story has been dark and sad from the first chapter. You were right to not think a fluffy happy ending would have worked. It wouldn't have felt genuine at all because that wasn't what this story was about. This is definitely more genuine to the universe that you have created and I still have no idea where it is going but I want to find out. Keep it up, this is good, update soon!

Wow! That got to me! This story is intense and daring and that chapter had bite...bad pun, I know. Really shocking though, and if a big character had to die, I think it's fitting that it's Buffy. She is the Slayer after all! And a grieving Spike is so powerful. Good job! Can't wait to see how it concludes
Author's Response: Thank you for the compliment. I just felt that Buffy was destined to die protecting someone else because that's what a slayer's life is about.
I also wanted to return to Spike's struggle to be good. It seemed throughout the story that Buffy and Tara were keeping him check more than he was keeping himself in check. I thought it was important to show his character out of control. Thanks for the compliment and for reading.
