Soooooo, if Hallie Rat is behind all of this angst, then what fun is it if she does not make an appearance to soak up Buffy's misery? If she shows her rattie smug face, perhaps Buffy can at least get some answers via the gloating portion of the confrontation. Look forward to more.

Oh man this story is hard to read. Poor Buffy is the only one who can try to figure out what's going on cause Spike is not really Spike and can't help her. :( I guess Spike is in Purgatory...and it seems that he was never turned and that's where the timeline got messed up. Now who could do something like this??? I smell a big, nasty RAT!
First the spiders, and now flying werewolves...Eeep!! This is bad.
The blue butterfly was a nice thing in this chappie...it felt like Spike communicating with Buffy. :)

Very interesting, the starting point seems to be that William never was turn, did he marry Cecily? and does that mean that Spike is trapped in purgatory sinc he wasn't created? A lot of questiens about how and why but interesting indeed.

This is so, so sad. My God, no Spike. That has to be the worst thing ever. Damn right, having Spike around made a difference to Buffy and everyone. And now she's trapped here with no way to communicate with him, and nothing of her life (no scars or rings,or his claim mark) I shudder to think what's happening to Spike whereever he is.
Still don't care for Riley too much, but I guess he's more "likable" here. *shrug*

I've always thought that Giles deep down had to resent the hell outta Buffy for what happened in S2 and the way she acted in S3. That to me was one of the low points for Buffy's character(besides S8 UGH!) She never apologized to Giles, just went right back to treating Angel like some sweet guy that they all had to like, cause she said so.Forgetting all of Giles' pain on losing Jenny and the torture Angelus put him through. :( I guess that's why I kinda dislike S3..it was just wrong IMO.

I'm loving it even tho the angst is off the charts. Hopefully you'll give us some answers soon. :) *squish*

Don't get too used to liking Riley ... it won't last.

Yeah, I thought Giles would've been more pissed about Angelus than he was and I thought Buffy was just a bit too forgiving of him ... But this Giles defniately isn't over it, not after what Angelus did without Spike to stop him. Unfortunately, that will make Giles a bit unlikeable, as well, later, but perhaps understandably so.

More clues will be on the way and I think by Chapter 4 you'll pretty much know what's going on and then we'll get into how to fix it...

Glad you liked the 'wonderful life' tie in ...that's a totally classic movie, no doubt!! **jingle jingle**

This reminds me a lot of the episode "normal again" (I think that's the name). There would be a lot of differences without Spike. I guess this means that no unsouled Spike of this dimmension will show up. I feel bad for everyone now, not just Buffy. Everyone in this reallity seems broken it must have been really hard for this Riley.

The only difference being she definately knows which one she'd rather be in and it doesn't include Finn... I think it is safe to say that a souled Spike won't turn up for her in the Finn/Dawn world. Riley did get the short end of the stick in this world, that's for sure ... he deserves some sympathy for his plight. It will be very interesting to see what you make of this story, as long as there's a happy ending. Interesting scenario it looks a bit like the power of a wish, but what kind of wish? ↲
Another thing, Rome universe feels like the wrong name since the souls they got memories from died together before Rome. The Rome universe should be the one where Buffy visited and made Spike go to his Buffy in Rome, and where they later fought WolfRam and Hart. The name thing isn't that important, but I had to say it :)
