This is really a terrific story - and I say this only because of my admiration for it - You should think about editing it - delete some of the elements that become repetitive and tightened up the focus on Buffy's voice as a more mature at this point. After all her nightmares and the magic reversal spell - her earlier teen voice does not seem to fit now.
I don't intent any offense with my suggestions - it's something that I almost never do but I think a bit of editing would improve it and make it a lot more intense.

I'm very curious about this Mrs. Baum character and how you use her proposed "sexual desire" for Spike. I confess to not liking her sexual play on him. Wish I could figure out if they are real or just her attempt to play with his mind.
Author's Response: It's a bit of both, actually. It's mainly to throw him off, because I love doing that. Shaking up a character who likes to be in control. It's okay if you didn't like this bit though. :)

Ok so it took me to 4am to finish this but my god it was so worth it. Honestly this is one of the best written most original stories I have read. The plot was awesome the characterization was brilliant and the spuffy interactions were sexy as hell. The naughty scenes while being hot hot hot were so realistic too, none of that harlequin 'breaking the barrier' kind of lameness, just real and sexy.. I enjoyed this immensely and, as for those loose end, I think they scream 'sequel' don't you? :-P thanks for a brilliant story!

That is the worst kind of cheesy. lol Love that you found it sexy, because I always get self-conscious when writing those kids of scenes. I have to put them in though because I feel like they're important and if used right can show intimacy. :)

Wow, what a ride! I kinda took a break from reading any fic in the past year or so and only got back to reading again a few days ago.. Stumbled on to one of your newest ones two days ago and completely hooked. Your story here, the way you write these two - perfection! I fell completely, head over heels in love all over again with them. The banter, humor then the angst... it's like a rollercoaster ride all the way! You take us from low to high and back low again in a matter of a couple of chapters.. sometimes even a few short paragraphs. :-) Seriously, so so in love with your work - I have always loved your older stories too! But after a long break from reading anything Spuffy, this one of yours will make it hard for me to find anything else that I would enjoy as much as I have enjoyed this. So fresh, original and just unique. LOVE IT SO SO MUCH!!

The banter in the car was very nice, and was so in character for them - INCLUDING how the mood shifted quickly when they spoke of Angelus.
The sex at the end was just delicious and sizzling. Yes, I did finish this like a week ago, but I like to sneak back on and leave reviews because who doesn't love reviews? WHO?

Ok, yeah. I totally finished this on my Nook, but have to come back and give the odd review. (Not ALL of my reviews are 'odd' however!)
A 'Nook' is a Barnes and Noble version of a Kindle. B&N is a massive book chain in the states. Nooks are heavier than Kindles and have shitty batteries. I wish my husband would have bought me a Kindle instead. Don't I sound like a bitch?

The building to the sex is very nice. The description of what's going on with him is both sensual and sweet and also has such an edge of vulnerability (ok, that's kind of three things and not two as I indicated by the word 'both' - but this is unbeata'ed so go with it).
