Can't wait to see how Spike explains the bet to Buffy! Great story!

Are you even an actual human? For the most part your story is very well written. Just some of the social gender and other elements are off and unatural. You have weird issues with drinking, Joyce forbidding Buffy from seeing Spike. She's 17, one year from the age of majority. Plus turning Buffy suddenly stupid for the sake of the story. You have her assuming something very damaging based two men (Spike saying nothing) exchange in a scenario she walked in on half way through. Question mark.

Author's Response: Well personally i can tell you i have no "weird" (or uptight) issues with drinking, though i don't know what you construed as "weird". And I was not turning Buffy suddenly stupid for the sake of the tale. She has jumped into a relationship quickly, and she's crazy about Spike. Therefore a threat to said relationship would scare her very much, and yes she jumped to conclusions, but that my friend is telling of her still immature nature. Also, you have to remember Drusilla was everything to Spike at one point, and Buffy knows that. With what Angel said I don't feel it would be completely irrational for her to think what she did. And as for Joyce, i myself know MANY parents who hold different rules and have restrictive opinions on things they probably shoudn't. And Buffy is still a very good girl, she's always listened to her mom and her mom hasn't had a whole lot of trouble with raising her. As for whether or not I'm human, I can assure you that I am. And many others who (I assume) are also living breathing people enjoy this story and understand where I've taken it. I'm sorry you feel I've gotten sloppy with the plot.

Very sweet beginning! You paint a vivid picture of cheerful small town life that I find really endearing. It's nice to think of Buffy having such a normal life. I also love what you've done with Dawn. Good use of her character & quite close to the way she was in her first year on the show. "Dawn catastrophe" made me laugh, as did the thought of Xander losing his lunch behind the gazebo. Super cute!

Ha! It's hilarious that Buffy told Angel I just hope that doesn't come back to haunt her. As for Spike I think he should've told his dad. Then maybe his dad could've helped a bit more. It's a bad position for Spike to be in. I hope that Buffy understands. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Oh yeah, shit, meet fan. :) Poor Spike. He just has to focus on forgetting it, and politely encourage Joyce to hop to it and spill the beans. Do hope "Drake" is a nice guy. Don't need any domineering demon robot guys for Joyce in this universe. Update soon!
