Cute....but could be so much more...

Author's Response: I'm pleased you liked it. I'm not really a novel-length writer, so short and sweet will have to suffice for this one.

What kind of dog? English mastifff? Golden retriever? Labradoodle? Pomeranian?

Author's Response: BarbC's suggested that Spike would have a bull terrier "spirit animal" if such things happened in Buffyverse fic. Here's a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bull_Terrier The older version, circa 1915, fits him, I think. As much as I love the idea of Pomeranian!Spike, I think Buffy's mythical 18th century father would breed something a bit more in the hunting/working dog range.

This is totally adorable!

I kinda would have loved it if Spike had transformed back to himself in front of Buffy & the Scoobs, but that woud've probably left us begging for 'sequel, sequel!!'.

I like Spike's 'boody buggering hell' realistation at the end. And Angel being shown up as an arse & gtting a scolding - bad Angel! :)

Author's Response: Awww. I'm so glad you liked it! Thanks for letting me know. Part of the reason he didn't turn back into a vampire in the warehouse was that I couldn't figure out if he'd lost his coat or all of his clothes. If it was all of them, it would have put him at a disadvantage with the Scoobies, although it would have been entertaining for us and educational for Buffy! Hee. I do like that Spike has to deal with this information on his own. Perhaps it informs his "I'd rather be fighting you anyway" line and also the way he helps Buffy against Angelus and Dru later on. Poor guy didn't stand a chance against the charms of the Duchess of Buffonia.
