This was fantastic. So sad, and yet, so true. No matter how much they love each other, this relationship is stopping both of them from living life to the fullest (so long as Spike is married, anyway). Spike can never fully enjoy any life he has with either woman because thoughts of his "other" life will always be nagging at him. And Buffy is really getting a raw deal. She deserves to be the ONLY woman, not the other woman. She can never have the husband and kids and real life when Spike is only there when he can sneak away. It's ironic, really, that throughout this whole fic, Spike has been the "strong" one, but when it came down to it, Buffy displayed way more strength than he ever did. And that is not to knock Spike, just an observation.

like I said reminds me of that song...Buffy's in a not so great positioon to do much other than tell him where to get off and if she loves him that is really hard to do.

The part with Buffy and Spike, explaining the feelings, was good written. Well, as always :) I fear for Buffy now thinking of what Dru wants

Just wanted to say that I really love this story and I can't wait to see where you go with it. There are so many great directions, I'm sure you'll give us the best.

I can't believe that Willow would knowingly endorse Buffy's relationship with a married man. Duh. I'm sorry, but I still think that Buffy could do so much better for herself. I just hope that she can soon see that too. Essentially, right now she is Spike's paid whore. He pays for her apartment and has made no emotional commitment. I can't think of a more degrading position to be in. Well, I can, but not one that this white-bread Buffy would ever willingly subject herself to. Being a very independent person, it has been very difficult for me to understand how she could willingly accept the situation she has made for herself. But, that doesn't mean I'm not loving this story. In fact, if this story is headed in the direction I think it is (from your A/N at the end of this chapter), it may end up being one of your best. I can see great room for growth for these two. Thanks for such a quick update!

Love it! And the quick update was good too. I go into panic attack mode when issues are unresolved. Like in cliffhangers about wives wanting babies from their husbands. :)

Doh! Wow....looks like life is going to be getting a lot harder for Spike! I loved Buffy in this chapter...she's very honest and she wants to be strong, but the poor things in love. reat chapter and looking forward to more. =)
