Enjoyed this one! Interesting how you have Riley being so patronizing. I'm wondering how this will all be played out.

My mistake. You, of course have loads of reviews. In my defense whenever I looked up I happened to be at a chapter in which there were none.
Anyway, moving on. I really liked this story, altough I found the jumping about in the last few chapters a bit strange. Especially the two that are back to front. In one Rupert is already dead and in the next he dies. Bit confusing, but no big deal.
Here's another thing, even though we all know these characters, you do exposition so well that if you changed the names, you could sell this on the open market.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your interest in my little drama. I missed my faux pas about Rupert! I have to admit, I've thought about publishing this before using other characters as this is somewhat based on my mother's family history. My mother is elderly and is very proud of her family (for the most part! LOL!) I originally posted this story on BS Central without benefit of spell check or beta and was not particularly happy with it. I did like the input I got from both sites and am very happy and proud of this story. Thank you again, spuf

You know it's weird. When I first read that the doctor was called Wilkins, I was a bit weirded out, cause you know huge demon thing. BUT having said that, it actually makes sense. When you take away the monster thingy he was a really nice man, the nicest enemy ever. And he was so family orientated that I could see this happening.
Good job.

Author's Response: Thank you. I didn't even realize that anyone was still reading this one! It's one of my faves because it's dear to my heart. Yes, things are heating up in Wyoming and I hope you stick with this. Thanks again, spuf

I can't believe you have no reviews for this. Then again I could have been writing one for every chapter, but I was too busy finding out what happens next, so i hope you'll forgive me.
Right to the story, the good and the okay. I really like this story, it's well written and thought out, that much is obvious. The characters are very close to character and yet not, which is fitting seeing as this is AU and plays in a different time period.
I absolutely adore your little descriptions that hint at the show itself. My favourite would have to be when Buffy describes Spike as a demon in human form. Very cool.
My only problem with this is that I don't find teh Riley situation believable. It doesn't seem quite feasible that Buffy would string him along even though she thinnks he is boring and a hypocrite. But seeing as I have a string suspicion that he and the reverend will turn out to be the robbers I can see why you would have him around in a bigger capacity for a while longer.
Plus this is written so well that I can deal with the odd jarring note.
If I could rate this in stars it would get four out of five, cause writing the characters believably in a different time period is one of the hardest things you can do. Check out Lost in Time for another story that does that really well.

Parker being gay, well didn't see that one coming. To find a more open minded society you'll have to go back about 2000 years and the old Roman empire, there it was completly acceptable :)

I do not find religious things offensive, not when they fit the story which they do in this case. I find it better that you have researched and accuratly try and portray how people acted and lived back then. If you were to just move the characters back in time and have them act as if it was present day I would find this story hard to read to be honest.

Spufette, Your story was excellent, it brought tears to my eyes. The remembrances of the past and passion of two people that you set down in print will always be a favorite of mine. You stated that the story in part is of your own family and you should be proud of your families contribution to the west. You are a wonderful writer and a great American.

Author's Response: Thank you so much. Your review brought tears to my eyes! I am very proud of my family, both sides, especially the females on my mom's side. Again, thank you. Luv, Spuf
