Summary: Sequel to The Truth of the Matter Is. Angel finds a prophecy that tells of the one true slayer loving a vampire with a soul. He knows he needs to talk to Buffy and Spike about it because it is probably referring to them. The problem is they took a vacation and he doesn’t know when they’ll be back. He’s still head of Wolfram & Hart, and they would probably love to get their hands on this prophecy and use it to their advantage in the coming apocalypse.

Before Angel sets off to find Buffy and Spike without any hard evidence to explain what the prophecy says or means to them all he has Wesley work on deciphering it. What Wes comes up with is that the vampire and slayer spoken of in the prophecy have the greatest love of all time, a love that could save the world from unspeakable evil or send the world to the furthest depths of hell if so inclined. There’s something that can control the love of the vampire and slayer and whoever has it holds the fate of the world in their hands.

Angel sets off into deep research mode to find what it is that can control the love. He knows that prophecies are subjective and he can’t believe that either Spike or Buffy, or himself for that matter, would let themselves be controlled by something in the employ of evil. Despite that he knows he has to find whatever this thing is before the Senior Partners get their hands on it. Just as he discovers that there is an ancient Roman proverb of a great and forbidden love and a key that could harness it Buffy and Spike return.
