I definitely like it. I like that you didn't make them hate each other right away. Those type of stories tend to get boring after 5, and its pointless to see who can be the bigger bitch within the first five minutes of being in the same room.

I like that you don't rush the sexual relationship with them as well as any romantic relationship but you just build up the tension just as the title of this chapter.

Usually with a lot of stories the author tells so many clues that you are not surprised by the time the secret is not revealed, but you give enough to keep us guessing [literally]. I really am dying to know if Buffy is the slayer.

I was wondering when it was going to hit Buffy that Spike is indeed a vampire. He's not like an Angel type, he is a bloodsucking fiend, and I liked this chapter. It was nice and sweet. That is until the end.
The question is, will Spike change his eating habits for her? I kind of hope not, but thats just my personal opinion.
Author's Response: Nice and sweet until the end, LOL. Yeah, Buffy has sort of been playing denial when it comes to the vampire part of the vampire thing. Spike might change for Buffy, but it is a loooooong way away, with many things in between. Thanks for writing!

I loved this chapter. And I loved the pensive thoughts in Spike's head. Although there was nothing sexual about him biting her I will admit it was HOT!!

I couldnt place why I liked this relationship in a story out of all the relationships of spike and buffy portrayed in other stories and it comes down to this....you ultimately made yours real. their issues are real in the aspect that because he is a vampire and she is a slayer these issues would be true if this whole thing we're real and possible. Their reactions are believable. Such as Spike's anger towards being asked these questions when he believes he's proved enough.

^I really thought that this was a nice way to end the chapter and was rather cute and sweet.^
I love the trust that Buffy is seeing with Spike even through his violent behaviors and I wonder if Buffy could ever except them in the future.

I found this first chapter/prologue to be a very good attention getter. I liked overall that you continued to have Buffy 'broken' in the sense even after she was removed to where she was held hostage.
I'll make a few theories of what could have happened, although I think Buffy was in the mental hospital but was not captured there. Though it is possible that like the Canon season 6 she was put there by her parents when she started spouting off about vampires. However I think Buffy is connecting that expirience with seeing her home again because of what she's gone through and her post traumatic state of mind. Or I could be wrong and the reason Buffy says no is because of an abuse that could be associated with the house. Very interesting. I've never actuallly been this into the possibilities of what could have happened in stories.
