Aww it's so sad that Spike and Buffy haven't made up. I still wanna smack Buffy, but I really do get that she's insecure and afraid. Spike might have to make some kind of grand gesture to prove to her that she can trust him with her heart.

Great first chapter! It does promise to be pretty dark and angsty (as you said), but it also promises to be a very cool story. And I think that this is some of your best writing to date :)
I'm not a *huge* fan of angst, but I can always counterbalance a chapter of this story with one of your other, more lighthearted fics when there's an especially angsty chapter :)

Great first chapter, xaph! I think you got the characters' voices down perfectly. And I loved the humor! My favorite funny part might be Buffy in the grocery store, waving a cucumber menacingly and scaring the Brussel Sprout Lady heehee What an interesting premise for a story - Buffy's actual friends haven't been too great, so I'm hoping the Imaginary one will be a help to her lol
