After reading your comments regarding the review that stayed with you, I made it a point to read the reviews that had been left. It made me realize that I’ve taken for granted the time and talent writers put into creating the fiction that has given me so much pleasure.

I read an inordinate amount, books and online fan fiction and while I have favorite authors sometimes even a favorite author can write a dud or more often than not write a plot that I don’t understand or enjoy or a plot that is unique but the grammar and/or spelling is such that I spend more time attempting to correct it than read it. When that happens, either I put the book down or I stop reading it online. What I would never do is assume that I could have written it better or leave a review that berates an author that has put so much time and effort into writing a story. I don’t have that given talent or imagination to put words to paper but I truly appreciate those that do.

What I most appreciate about fan fiction is when a story takes a character that I truly detest and writes him or her in such a way that I end of liking the character, which for me is a pleasure. Then there are the stories that reiterates the negative feelings that I have for the character, I enjoy those even more.

Specifically regarding the Origin stories, I have enjoyed them immensely. I prefer long stories and you have provided that in spades. I find the characterization and pacing wonderful. Please try to release whatever negative feelings that the reviewer engendered and continue with your wonderful writing. Reviewers are entitled to their opinions but until they put themselves on the line (as you and other authors have done) with well thought out stories and puts it out there for others to read and critique then they are just whistling in the wind.

My humble opinion only.
