Poor Spike and Poor Buffy - I don't know if I should cry for him and be glad that he can at least begin to bring her back to an acceptance and understanding of her life.

I have been in a discussion recently on Spike as always taking on the role model of fitting himself into what his love object wants him to be or to service their needs or wants - it's such a terrible way to live. My interpretation is that he does it out of love, that his power ultimately comes from love that even if he does "fit himself" into the needs and wants of the person he loves this role model would ultimately be his destruction if the foundation of Spike were not capacity to love that is not dependent on his love being returned.

I enjoyed this very much - second time reading and I think I liked it even more this time -

Was wonderful to have her history with Merrick connected - plus, good changes from the series - just enough to bring both together. I have to however say, that the entire Xander "I Love You" was not something that I ever felt resolved "Darth Willow." I do think it works better here before Willow did some real damage.

Loved your ending - great way to bring in all the pain and sorrow and tragic effect from her being taken out of her "resting place & heavenly realm" back into the world - and the loss of all joy and peace that should could have had in her life again.

Really glad that you did not have them stay together - your ending feels right. It leaves your reader with all the tragic self-inflicted misery that she brought to herself and gave to Spike.

You have several small errors of tense and sentence structures that you should try to fix - especially as this is such a good first effort and such a good story about a subject that many writers would never try to write about.
