Author's Response: Poor Spike can't get a break. He tries to use his vampy and masculine wiles to get them out of a jam, and he gets yelled at for it lol Buffy was just waiting for a bit of the old Spike to come through (she's uncomfortable with a more morally ambiguous Spike who doesn't fit into a specific category), so she immediately leapt to the wrong conclusion about his motives.
It won't be easy for them to get out of the mess they're in, some bad times are ahead for them. They'll need to pull together and stop with the crankiness :)
