I'm a labor and delivery nurse by night and a Buffy fan by day... I got into BtVS earlier this year, after years of refusing to watch it. I used to live with a whole gang of Buffy fans, and somehow never got sucked into it. (my loss) My 6 year old twins wish I'd stayed away from Buffy - they are now terrified of vampires. I have high hopes, however, of them eventually discovering the great, smart, strong women in the Whedonverse.
Once upon a time I was an English major with a strong focus on creative writing, and a huge phobia of math and science. Then my world flipped upside down, I discovered I really didn't suck at science, and I became a nurse. The fic I'm currently working on is the first non-science-based writing I've done in about 10 years.

Summary: Forced to be close together for an infinite amount of time, it stands to reason that mortal enemies would drive each other insane. But when it comes to a self-righteous, uptight slayer and an irritating, chipped vampire, there is no reason. This story, set just after S4, is full of banter and innuendo, so read on if you are interested.
Also, Riley left to roam the jungle a little early so he isn't in the picture.

Wow. Just read this in one sitting ... it's so sad and dark and beautiful. I loved this glimpse into a side of Spike we don't see much. The passion and despair he's feeling , souled or otherwise, comes through clearly. The ending is bittersweet, but completely believable and in tune with your characters. Really well done.
