Spike is right to be wary. Buffy might have the best intentions but when it comes to standing up to Xander, Willow and Giles about her personal life? She caves every single time. He right too when he said she had lots of people back home. We know Willow is working on a spell to get everyone back where they belong. But really I doubt they're trying very hard to get vamp Spike back. No one really cares about him in our Sunnydale. He is alone, no friends, no family. This place must feel like paradise. Even if Buffy had stayed a cold fish to him at least he had Emma. Going back means he loses even that.
Author's Response: He\'s doing the right thing by keeping back, although it is a slippery slope. They\'re here now, without all the outside influences, and it\'s rational for him to assume they won\'t be able to be this close once she\'s surrounded by the people she loves, people who are so important to her, and people that coincidentally hate his guts... or at least would never want him around her. They don\'t have any reason to trust him, because they haven\'t seen him like Buffy has. He\'s got the most to lose, I agree with you. But we can\'t forget that Buffy can be stubborn as hell when it comes to something/someone that matters. We\'ll see what happens! :)

She really is so screwed up that she can't tell when she is in love. She managed to deny it to herself so well that even Spike didn't believe she loved him. The fact that she got angry that he didn't come for her makes me laugh. Why would he? She had no right to be angry. If she really wanted him it was her turn to do the chasing. Spike chased after her for years. Now it's too late and part of me is happy she is in pain. She threw away someone who made themselves over completely to be someone she could love and she didn't see it until it was too late.
Author's Response: I have to admit, I really hate the \'self-righteous\' side of Buffy\'s personality. I know Spike wasn\'t great all the time, but neither was she. Hot diggity damn!!! That was great!!! I cannot wait until everyone watches that!!! In my opinion Xander always did have a thing for Buffy. That's why no one was ever good enough for her. And why he hated Spike so very much. Jealously is not pretty on Alexander LaVelle Harris.
Anya is going to boil Xander's fun parts in oil, eviserate him, chop his balls off then feed them to him before she kills him. But only if she gets to him before Buffy and Joyce!!!!!!
Hopefully they get to watch it before Xander does something to Spike. Or worse before he convinces Buffy, Dawn and Joyce to hate Spike. I could see the little shit setting Spike up for something like a dead girl. Just to get him tossed out of the Summers life. And possibly staked by Buffy.

I liked the story. I love Dawn and any story that has her and Spike friends works for me. The only suggestion is check your formatting. You could use more space between paragraphs.

Xander has always had a crush on Buffy. Almost an obsession with her. Part of me hopes he's been possessed and that is the reason for this behavior. But another part of me thinks this has always been there. We saw it in season 6 Entropy. He always wants what he doesn't have and never appreciates what he does have.
It bothered me that Anya, as much as I like her, was forgiven for her crimes the moment she became human. She never experienced a moment of regret for what she had done until the frat house in season 7. But over a 1,000 years of death, pain and maiming and snap! It's forgotten by everyone because she's human. Those souls really are magic aren't they?!
I always thought Xander was willing to pretend Anya's past didn't exist because he was using her as a nice excuse to make Buffy jealous. It didn't work and he found himself trapped in a relationship with Anya until he finally bailed on her at the wedding.
After this outburst though I can't see Anya staying in the relationship much longer. She deserves so much better.

I think at one stage Giles said hundreds if not thousands might have been awakened and Buffy said (in the comics) that there were at least 1800 Slayers in the world, so I just rounded that number up. I also wanted to create a situation where they needed all of the slayers, so that the initial problem becomes how to find, recruit and house them.

Angel needed that dressing down. I hope Spike realizes she said that just to shut Angel up and that she didn't really mean it. But Angel is a prick. He runs from love all the time. Spike has to have evil motivations otherwise Angel might be called into question. If Spike can do good without a soul why can't Angel? That's something Angel isn't ready to answer... Ever.
