OOhhh!! Smutty bit? Can't wait! This was a good follow-up chapter to the tension of the previous ones. They're not quite there yet, but they are trying to work through it. I can't blame Spike for being reluctant, she is only 16. The kissing scene in this chapter was definitely sexy and romantic. Hope the next one comes soon!

This is a great story.The only thing is that in most if not all.of Europe ,including the UK sex with a 16 year old is neither illegal or unknown and the age difference not really that unusual.A great story though,keep up he good work
Author's Response: yep--I know it's not that bad, which is why I chose a 10-year age gap. It's not truly taboo, but over in the US it's considered squick-worthy...although really to me, it's middle-of-the-road =D Don't worry, I wasn't trying for cutting edge, LOL! Thanks for reviewing!

I'm torn here...first off I can see this is terribly wrong on all counts., but...
You have to remember, I come from California, USA and here the age of consent is 18 for adult behavior.(except drinking which is 21 in most states).
Anyway, it's difficult for me to think about a man Spike's age with someone Buffy's in this, however, not unheard of, certainly.
In California,there are various examples of underage liasions (especially in old traditional cultures) and things like this can be turned a blind eye to.
I know that in many countries 16 is considered legal age and maybe it's a good thing. It's just that for Spike and Buffy here in CA, this is going to get him in trouble if someone balks at it. I'm not saying 'I' think it's wrong between them, how could I? I'm Spuffy to th end. It's kind of a Catch-22 here and I hope this turns out okay.
I like the convo Spike and Buffy had together, but I can't help but feel that he might just break her heart in the end.

Author's Response: and I come from Maryland, USA so I get where you're coming from =) The drinking age thing--that's why I picked Doyle to be her drinking buddy, because I figured if anyone would be able to con bartenders into getting them drinks, it would be him...and don't worry, I'm acknowledging the issue with Spike and the age difference. Since I can't write anything except a happy ending, I can promise you they won't end up hurting each other much...I really can't tell you more than that, so I hope that settled it =) Thanks for such a thoughtful review!
