Hmmmm, despite earlier similarities this is a different Spike. Drusilla could never say no to Angelus, but this could be attributed as well to a slightly changed Spike. He was not so completely pathetic when he was turned, that could be it.

I'd guess Darla left Angelus at this point, got sick of his obsession with Spike and Dru? If I remember rightly, she left him often.

The subdued or second hand carnage isn't nearly as fun, but hearing Spikes view on it all is giving me some more good insight into this version of him. It can't all be mob brawls and swagger I guess.

Holy crap, I should not like this Spike as much as I do. Right now I could give a rats ass about Buffy.

He may be a sick murderer, but he is so ... Alive. Yeah, I think that's the word. Pure entertainment.

For me a story is about the journey, not the end. And i would have been very dissappointed if you had skipped this entire section, while it is so important to the story!
Aside for really longing to see how it would change the future, which i did as well, i really dont understand yu got any bad reactions. Yes i longed to know too, but at the same time the longer road makes it all the sweeter.
And rhyming past william with future spike would not make that much sense to me, without this backstory. So thanks for sticking to it!
And i happily continue reading now :)

As much as its killed me not to know whats been happening with future buffy i have been loving this part! Itll be worth it in the long run i think :)

Well that took a while to get through! And i am just completely in love with this story. It was incredibly well written--excellent dialogue too.. I think the first part was my favourite because I believed every bit of it, her falling in love with him..Gah! It pulled me in like no fic ever has. Second part was fantastic, probably the best Spike centered fiction and introspective i've read. Third part was lovely, tied everything together really well. Thanks for an awesome read!

Best spuffy fic I've ever read. You should be very proud. Great characterizations. Amazing details. Solid plot--sweet without being cloying, just enough real tension and drama.

A long story , but one so very worth reading, I thoroughly enjoyed all three parts of it. I think you did especially well telling the tale of the years from when William was turned through to his transformation into Spike, you made it easy to see how it could go that way. I am so glad that after all the difficulties they faced they still ended up together, a proper love story ending well. I love it, thank you for all your hard work and sharing it with us.

You made me go compulsive and obsessive about it..! I just couldn't stop reading it! Every time I started a chapter I thought to myself "ok, time to go to sleep, this IS the last one that I read tonight", I would get to the end of it with something linking to the next that was impossible to resist... haha :) I've NEVER read anything so long (not even books) in such a short time - 2 and a half days!
Good job! I am just so very glad that I started reading the whole thing AFTER it was completed. I don't think I'd be able to stay at those cliff-hangers(?) and wait some more days for the next chapter....

Definitely best Spuffy story I've read so far; it is the first one I read that maintains all the character's same qualities, doesn't go to fluffy or unreal, everything had a plausible reasoning.. and still found super sweet things about the couple (does this last part make sense?).

And I absolutely loved how you kept telling Spike's story since Buffy left William all the way to 1997.. I was expecting for you to just skip the non Spuffy stuff, but I was pleasantly surprised. :) Loved the Angelus/Drusilla/Darla break in the middle of it.. as if to keep us anxious for Spike and Buffy to meet again already.

I wish I had friends who were interested in Buffy (or even just Buffy) fanfics.. I'd be recommending it to everyone. ;p

THANK YOU for giving us hours of entertainment! I agree with one of the reviews below... YOU WILL MAKE MY DAY (or week, or month) IF YOU WRITE A SEQUEL! Of course I suspect you must feel completely "done" with it, and I understand. A sequel is never fun when it is not nearly as good as the original. But if one day you feel inspired and think that you could write it.. even if it is half as good as this one, I would be so delighted! And I'm sure many others would, too. :)

Freakin great story! The writing is excellent, and you've really got the characters down. I know I shouldn't ask this but I really want a sequel. I remember, quite a few chapters ago, when Giles said that Buffy wasn't pregnant, but it was to early to be sure. Maybe she is pregnant? And her slayer powers have prevented all the signs of pregnancy (morning sickness, feeling bloated). Maybe just something to think about?

I just found the epilogue here - I had been reading this story here and on nocturnal light - so I thought I had reached the end after ch 66 on the other site - I was so psyched to find the epilogue. I left the full review on that site - but I want to send you another quick note to let you know just how much I appreciate this fabulous story - I am sure I will continue to think of your versions of Spike and Buffy for a long time to come.
