I've always been a fan of your writings but this fic leaves me in awe. Spike's devotion is absolutely perfect, it really reflects the sentiment he expressed in his speech in Touched. That depth of feeling was there all along, but Buffy couldn't see it, hell, sometimes I don't think Spike always knew. But it was there. All I can hope is when Buffy and Spike returns to the surface, Buffy will remember what he did for her instead of letting the Scoobies tell her what to think. Keep up the good work!

Buffy 's terror and panic were a wonder to read, as was Spike's dogged pursuit. He'd come so far, only to find his prize damaged beyond the imagination.

The description of her cornered with Spike trying to calm her with words and memories that she no longer had was heart breaking and breath taking. His need to make contact was a living thing, and when they touched and Buffy broke down I gave a sigh of relief. This is a good sign, but I'll bet there's along way to go to get Buffy whole again.

Cant wait till the next one. Will she talk or be mute for a while? A thousand years without talking to people probably would eventually make you forget how to speak--all the talking went through your head...just like Spike did.
I'm not going to get excited just because she threw herself to him just yet. All the Spuffy fans know they belong together, but this girl isn't Buffy...she's a shell ,like you said. Or maybe I'm wrong...maybe that spark when he touched her was something more than the readers can see. Now the challenge is getting them out. Spike fell from the sky...they certainly can't go the way he came. I believe Buffy needs to destroy her own hell, defeat it, for both of them to make it out.
