In my mind only Angel and Cordy can throw a monkey wrench into the Thanksgiving festivities. Spike could be planning on making money by selling his DNA via stud services? Buffy would hate that more than stripping. *Ducks stuffing box thrown by Buffy for suggesting it* Your muse is evil, planning on ruining Thanksgiving with his demented ideas. Loved the pic of granny with a weapon, I swear if they are not spraying pepper spray for bargains, they are packing heat! Hints to your muse to have Spike wearing his kiss the cook apron and nothing else....Hey! That could make a good cooking show! Call it “Cooks That Don’t Suck!” Now that would bring in tidy little sum of cash from horny housewives. Look forward to the next chapter and can’t wait to find out just how Spike is planning on making more money.

Author's Response: Hi Vette! Nope, not Angel and Cordy ... although that would've been a good wrench to toss in. This one will come out of the blue for everyone and throw Buffy for a bit of a loop. LOL on Spike's next money making idea - selling DNA ... LOL! A Spike Cooking show would be a great idea! I have got to have him cook for Buffy like that one of these days ... **jots down a note for my evil muse** Cooks That Don't Suck is perfect in so many ways. Did you see the autograph JM gave ... ummm ... I think it was in Chicago to Jesse? She asked him to write something that he'd *never* written on any autograph before, he wrote 'I don't suck' ... No, James, you don't ... and neither does Spike! heehee! The money making idea Spike has will come to light in a couple of chapters ... maybe three, can't recall now. We do check back in on Bess here soon too. Thanks for the great ideas! I love them! -p4s 2011.12.28

A very nice happy chapter with a sweet Spike and baby. It's good to have them between the angst. Something bad will happen at Thanksgiving then, but who will bring the badness? It could be almost anyone but I will make three guesses, Angel, MacKinzie (sick or something) or something to do with Spikes plan to get money. And how will Spike get money? It's probably dangerus and/or moraly doubtful. Since he's at work most of the time he could have heard something there.

Author's Response: Hi Magnus! Everyone thinks it will be Angel mucking up the holiday, but no - it will be someone from out of the blue that will through Buffy for a bit of a loop. Does that give you any other ideas? no? Well, I'll post soon so we can see who it is. Yes, Spike's ideas about getting money are all mostly dangerous and morally questionable ... we'll find out within the next 2 or 3 chapters what exactly he's up to and also what other trouble he's gotten into that Buffy doesn't know about ... uht-oh! Thanks so much for stopping in, Magnus! Always a pleasure! -p4s 2011.12.28

Holiday shopping adventures. So over it. Holiday return/exchange adventures I like even less. :) At least they are almost over in the real world. Can't wait to see what drama is going on in there's. Update soon.

Author's Response: Hi BuffyRat! Sorry about bringing back bad memories of the shopping searson just past ... one day I will be able to get the stories to post to coincide with the holiday itself - maybe. Will have more soon ! Thanks so much! -p4s 2011.12.28

Sweet little Angelpie. Glad that Bess found something to relate to and let in. So much easier to believe that the love of an animal is genuine than that of a person somethings. And it's good to know that Angelpie has better instincts when it comes to vampires than rats. I'm pretty sure that rat was just playing. In my experience there are three kinds of rats, those that are afraid of cats, those that are indifferent to cats, and those that chase the cats. But all of my cats have been afraid of the rats. I'm always properly cautious to keep anyone from getting hurt, but I know the rats try to mess with them on purpose sometimes. Unconventional, sure, but they make great pets. :) Glad she reunited Suzie-Q with her brother. Goes to show you may not always be right when you decide what others must be thinking. Hopefully she'll take a little of her own advice here. Update soon!

Author's Response: Hi BuffyRat! LOL! on the cats afraid of the rats! Although I had a 'pack' of dogs (at one time had 7 on my farm) and they were all afraid of the tom cat. They would part like the red sea if he walked through the middle of them. Not litle dogs, or meek dogs, either! I've never had a rat for a pet, but had hamsters, of course, as a child (who didn't?). Rats are really quite smart but I do hate them sneaking around at night eating the birdseed in the feeders and fruit off my trees ... ugh. I think Bess' heart is starting to melt - first with Angelpie and then with Sue-Ann ... we'll find out what she finds in Philly in a couple more chapters. Thanks so much for stopping in! Resilient little girl that Bess. Sure doing a lot of growing this time around. People can give you all the warnings in the world, but somethings you can't learn until you face them yourself. :)

Author's Response: Hi BuffyRat! Yeah, I think we all know that telling someone something just doesn't always work - sometimes, most times, you have to figure it out for yourself. Thanks much for reading and stopping in! Will have more soon. -p4s 2011.12.28

Well your muse sure knows how to make you care about a character in this case a pet and then bring on the bone chilling danger and angst. Bess obviously has issues that she needs to over-come such as the fear paralysis when she witnessed the ambush of the cheerleader slayer in the alley. Angelpie is a brave kitty risking one of her nine lives to save Bess. *Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!* sorry saw the opportunity to use that phrase like Xander did in the episode “Passion” for the TV show. Angelpie must be sent by Wanda to watch over Bess on her journey to find her way back to the family that loves and misses her. Really enjoyed where Bess reunited Sammy and Sue Ann together, this shows her desire to ease the pain she feels through others. I could say much, much more as you are familiar with from my past reviews but all I can say is “HAPPY HOLIDAYS!” for now. Take care and give your muse some rum and eggnog and a prezzie of coconut oil combined with a g-string to keep him out off the streets and creating mayhem and mischief. Ta!

Author's Response: Hi Vette! Hope you had a happy holiday, as well!! Thanks! I do keep that g-string and coconut oil handy, no worries! He's already started planning the next catastrophe to befall our Spuffy family as we speak (even before finishing the one they're embroiled in!) ... bad dog! He is terrible at making us care about someone (or something) and then slamming it sickeningly against the wall. He's so very evil ... good thing he's so damn hot ... esp in that g-string! YowZa! Gotta keep him around for that, if nothing else! Of course, he loves to make me cry and, crazy person that I am, I love it when he tortures me that way! Hurt me, hurt me good! Damn evil fiend! I can't resist his evil attraction! Will have more soon! {hugs} -p4s 2011.12.25

Still a lot of sadness but a lot more hope. She met more nice people and the kitten. She really needs it, someone to love and take care of. But it would destroy her if it was killed, so it better survive untill she has more to love. Meeting Angelpie (like the name) and Sue-Ann was ment to happen of course to give Bess ties to the world and a sense of selfworth.

Author's Response: Hi Magnus! Yeah, she had a close call there, but I think the kitten has shown her that it's ok to let somthing into her heart; if it had died, that would've been a hard blow for her. Also, seeing that she could help others, like Sue-Ann, outside of the Slayerness definately gives her a sense of self-worth. Perhaps there was a soft hand of fate propelling her towards Cleveland ... just as her dream will now take her to Philadelphia. We'll check back in on her there soon. Thanks so much for stopping in! Alone, something Bess has done for a long time. Fought alone, died alone, survived and suffered abused all alone. Looks like she needs to hit rock bottom to make her way to the top of her journey back home. She is lost spiritually and emotinally with little hope to feel loved. She wants and feels the need to understand where she belongs and fails to have the skills to ask for any help. Sad how she has only ever doubted her self worth and allows others to use her. Hope her soliciting days are over.

Author's Response: Hi Vette! She's getting pretty close to the bottom ... things just have to start looking up for her a bit. She still has a ways to go, though. I think her days of soliciting are, indeed, over ... barring some catastrophe that requires large amounts of money quickly... We'll see. Thanks again for stopping in! {hugs} -p4s 2011.12.25

Gets cash out of emergency cookie jar to pay Spike to strip-tease in a G-string. *Eyes glaze over*. Billy is sensitive for a reason, love the hint that perhaps his talent lies in matters of the heart. Annie growing up going to dances and kissing boys while Spike goes "radical" in keeping an eye on her is hilarious! The sixties slang is great but if Annie ever says phrases such as “shake that thing” or "sock it to me" Spike will see psychedelic star’s in front of his eyes and flip out. The financial apocalypse is still looming over them, thank goodness for Ebay!

Author's Response: Heehee! Oh, to have Spike shake his booty ... and other parts, for us in a gstring and coconut oil! Glazed eyes all around! Glad you enjoyed Spike's foray into stealthy voyerism with Annie ... that poor girl. Oh yeah, let's hope she knows what sayings to stear clear of around her over protective Papa... :P They are still working on digging out of the financial crunch ... or at least staying afloat. I saw there were two chapters bv I had to sleep. This was such a sad chapter, the first picture did really set the mode. it showed that the chapter would be about her loneliness and sadness. There was some small hope with Wanda but mostly sad. I wonder if she will meet some descendants of her siblings along her travel?

Author's Response: Ok ... just didn't want you to miss it and skip over 'cos I knew I was posting another one today. You picked a good one to go to sleep with, at least. Ever since Buffy met Henry William Hart in the 'wish world' I've thought about how to bring them back into the story - although I honestly don't need too many more characters to keep track of, I think it would be cool. One day my muse will find a way to work at least one of the decendants from William and Anne into the story, I'm sure. Next chapter's up, so you can see who she meets in her travel so far. We will check back with her again later, but next we go back to SunnyD. Thanks much,Magnus! Love hearing from you always! -p4s 2011.12.24

Poor Billy, no teacher should ever do that. It was wonderful how Spike get what Billy ment with his drawing. The school dance part was nice to. Lovely happy picture of Buffy, the smile and the hair, good. Stripping would be one way to bring in more money. Well Buffy and Spike are both to possesive to allow that. But if things turns desperate. I bet a Slayer could do a very good show. Mayby a Buffy and Faith double strip, a nice thought before I go to sleep :-)

Author's Response: Hi Magnus! I keep looking for good pictures of Buffy to use (or SMG during those years). I have some sexy ones but she's dressed strangely in some, so I'll have to try and figure out how to set that up - maybe in a dream or something like that 'cos some are just not things Buffy would wear. I liked that one of her smiling nicely too. The thing that happened to Billy with the drawing is a true story from real life ... and you're right, no teacher should ever do that! Yeah, I bet Buffy and/or Faith could put a whole new spin on a pole dance! LOL! Very sure Spike would object unless the strip was for him alone ... then I don't think he'd mind being double-teamed. :O Sweet dreams! Love ferocious Mom Buffy ready to jump in to defend her kids honor. Poor Billy. Perhaps they should start putting his works up on ebay. That actually may help to get him over it. And such an interesting insight about him as the Heart. An empath... perhaps his art has a bit to do with reading auras. Would certainly explain the colorful swirls. And Spike as a stripper for the night, that I would love to see. A great way to leave us for the holidays. Hope Bess lets Billy say hey, girl needs a friend. And I want to know about the rat monsters. Update soon!

Author's Response: Hey BuffyRat! The aura thing is a great thought ... one which I hadn't acutally considered, but perhaps my muse had. I have thought some more about her name, and sorry but I really dislike MacKenzie. And then I saw some suggestions about calling her Mac for short. My thought was NO, that's what you call a man or a dog. When she has a boys name she needs to be called something girly. I'm not that fond of any of the suggested names, but if I had to chose it would be "Zee"

Sorry about my complains, but you can see it as a comliment, it means I care :-)

Author's Response: Hey Magnus! I love that you care! Ok, here's a confession, although a couple of people have suggested Mac, I don't really like it for a girl either (although I do like MacKenzie)... It's like a boy named Sue to me. The other popular suggestion was 'Kenzie, although honestly not many people have chimed in yet. Even the people that typically review every chapter - I'm guessing the holidays have them tied up away from the computer. So, I'm holding off making anything definate for a while ... I like Zee or N-Z too. Sorry you don't like the name, hopefully we can find something cute to call her - it may morph over time as her personality starts to develop. I knew when I created Annie, Dani, and Billy what their personalities would be - I have no idea for MacKenzie, so it's gonna have to develop as she grows, I guess. Thanks much for the input! And now the baby is born. Mostly a feel good chapter but the prophecy is there, a shadow over the future. More demons are coming to balance the Slayers.

So her name will be MacKenzie, to me it sounds more like a last name or a boys name, but with the meaning it fits.

Author's Response: Hi Magnus! MacKenzie is typically a last name, or perhaps even a boy's, but there was at least one 'famous' girl (MacKenzie Phillips)... not 100% sure if it was spelled the same or not. It's the name that got the most votes way back in the last story when we found out Buffy was preggers... The money trouble really puts a strain on the family. Not being able to support your family is a huge crash on your feeling of selfworth. I hope Spike realizes that sometimes you have to take the help that is offered and that the children wont blame themself. Anyway it was nice how their friends where helping and as always wonderful use of pictures to set the mood. I agree with Xander Miranda Kerr (good picture) has nice eyes, but I love her hair. I have a thing for long hair on a woman.

Author's Response: Hi Magnus! Money troubles can definately rip people apart and I can see Spike feeling really unhappy with himself for not being able to support them in the way he thinks they should be supported. He puts too much pressure on himself for this, which Buffy is getting ready to tell him soon. There really must be an apocalyptic prophecy at work if Faith is going celibate. Spike losing his temper over Buffy applying and getting welfare really is unreasonable, they pay taxes, time to get back. The friends getting together to help clean up the mess is truly worth more than gold itself. You really cannot buy the kind of love and friendship they have. The children becoming aware of the strain that money is having in their home life must be frightening and confusing. Myself growing up, I used to do babysitting and have yard sales to get money, my brothers had a paper route, did yard work, washed cars, walked pets and/or fed them for neighbors, and we even had a lemonade/bottled water stand which we sold for double the money during hot days. Our elderly neighbors would have us help them unload groceries and put them up, help do some light cleanup around their home, it was a mutual relationship for both of us, they got company to check in on them to make sure they were alright and get help with being independent in their home and the kids got to earn money and learn respect and compassion for the elderly. Win…win situation. We used to love hearing their childhood and life stories and it fueled our imagination for playing later on. We never felt poor, only proud that we could be independent and the money we earned did not get spent frivolously. During the rainy season, we would earn money by pushing cars out of low areas in the road where they stalled. People would only be glad to pay a bunch of kids to push their car out of the water so they could stay inside the car and dry. (Fond memory). During the holidays, us kids would bake (under adult supervision) peanut butter cookies and brownies and sell them around our neighborhood. It was surprising just how much some of our elderly neighbors looked forward to buying them. Never did we ever feel like we wanted to “keep up with the Jone’s” on the latest toys or gadgets, that was not what made us happy. Building a tree house, putting on a play at home for our parents sharing our limited time together is what we looked forward to. Now Spike may hate the idea that his kids would want to earn their own money, look at how Bess made hers. But, their family breaking up over finances would be a worse bitter pill to swallow than his wounded pride. BUT! Knowing your evil muse, he would have the IRS want the kids to declare any income they made! He’s EVIL!

Author's Response: LOL!! re: the Faith celibacy thing - Willow says the same thing in a later chapter! That's too funny! I love the story of pushing the cars out of the water ... that's free enterprise at work! I'd pay for that! When I was a kid, my father owned a storage/warehouse thing and there were several people in there with businesses (there was the cement man and the pool man and the cabinet man and the a/c man and the screenman and the hat man ... I didn't know any of their actual names ... LOL! ) I earned money working for them off and on, doing whatever - sweeping the floor or washing stuff or whatever they could find for me to do until I got a 'real job' at the age of 14 ... My dad invented 'thrifty' ... look it up in the dictionary and you'll see his photo! ;) We didn't do plays, we did CONCERTS ... bring the record player outside in the yard and we'd stand up on a big wooden spool (a cable spool), that was our stage, and we'd sing along with the records... the whole neighborhood would come to our concerts ... LOL! My muse is evil, he does love to toture them and us ... but you know, in the end, he loves them and they'll only be stronger for the torture ... or dead. One or the other... :P {{hugs}} -p4s 2011.12.14
