There is nothing to say. Your muse
just seems to hate that family. Here is a song for your muse. "Love will keep us together' by Captain and Tenille.

Author's Response: Oh Bridget ... That could only be topped by Muskrat Love! He honestly doesn't hate them, he just likes to test them ... and us ... to our very limits. Just to see what we can take. Thanks so much for sticking with us and the music! -p4s 2012.01.29

Your muse beginning to like Mandy is proof positive that he’s gone sack of hammers now. You my dear must be saved from his insane, evil thrall as soon as possible so we can all return to a more happy, Spuffy life. I fear before that can happen though the insane duo of your muse and Dru are going to make us all suffer more than I care to imagine. Thanks for another great update. More soon please

Author's Response: Hi Melly!! heehee! You could be right about the sack of hammers! When I forced him to let Spike win, Blue Boy's (BB for short) first thought was - 'we need Dru!' LOL! oh dear ... what have I done? ;) -p4s 2012.01.29

Spike did win, but of course that's not the end of the badnes. He should know it's Buffy so I'm guessing he tries to save her from the fire but they will be badly burned, both of them.

Author's Response: Yes, he knows it's Buffy and they will both be burned ... Spike still worse than Buffy. My muse simply must have his due in blood and tears. Thanks, Magnus!! -p4s 2012.01.29

So thought my computer was messing up on the first picture.
So your muses solution for Spike to win the fight, is to hurt ( possibly kill) them both. Your muse needs to listen to kidz bop non stop, it will surrender uncodtionly.

Author's Response: LOL! Sorry about that, gopher101! I'll definately look into kidz bop and see if I can get Mr. Evil to give our heroes a break ... soonish. heehee! Thanks so much for stopping in!! Love hearing from you! -p4s 2012.01.26

:)

Author's Response: Oh IT! I'm soooo sorry! (not!) heehee! Yes, I've been called evil a time or two in the past ... my muse is quite giddy when that word appears on the screen! :) Thanks so much for reading all the way from the beginning so fast! Wow! I should have expected your muse to be driven insanely evil from listening to Angel sing Mandy for so many hours but I was desperate for Spike to win. Would some of Willows cookies help to make it better? I think at the very least our Spuffy couple may need some of Tara’s healing magic. More soon please

Author's Response: Hi Melly! Yes, I do believe that's what's happened ... and now there are threats of Barney from other readers ... oh dear. This is dire! Tara will definately provide some healing, but will it be enough? We'll find out soon, I promise! {hugs} -p4s 2012.01.26

Spike won but what did he lose? Your muse wants his pound of flesh and is not done tormenting us. Even with a prophecy pending, Spike and Buffy seem to be in harm’s way all the time! Buffy blacking out can only mean that the next chappie will probably be in her point of view to further the angst. If she is blacking out, then at least give her back the 5 years of memories she lost! Will Spike go all “Angelus” and have his demon rein over his humanity? All I can say is, that their financial woes have put a proverbial “bulls eye” of grief on them. No fire sprinklers in the building and no one rushing in with fire extinguishers, I think the promoters are trying to welsh on paying the prize money. If Spike doesn’t get the prize money, then let Spike go all “Scourge of Europe” on the promoters and resort to Faith’s philosophy of “Want – take – have” from her earlier years. Buffy really did leap into the ring before thinking things through though; she could’ve just opened the pouch before jumping in to douse the flames. Time to bring out the “big guns” in music torture for your muse; hands Passion4Spike a CD of Barney the Dinosaur’s “I Love You” song to play for hours on end mercilessly. This song was actually use by interrogators at Guantanamo Bay on their detainees. *Cackles evilly*

Author's Response: OH NO! NOT ... BARNEY! Arrrrrgggghhh!!! You have my handsome, evil muse cowering in the basement talking to dead people now! You have no idea how close you are with the 'going Angelus' bit ... that will be the pound of blood to be paid - the price that's demanded of Spike by the universe for his win. The next chapter will actually start out from Spike's POV and seeing Buffy jump into the fire... and no - she cannot have her memories back or I'd have to figure out what they all are and my muse enjoys parsing them out little by little! LOL! We'll find out what happens next --- soon, I promise!! thanks so much, Vette! Love your reviews ... Please turn off the Barney song now! {{arrrrgghh!}}

Glad that Spike won. Not so much a fan of the ongoing battle. Hope the fire extinguishing spell did its worst before Buffy passed out. You'd think the fight organizers would have fire extinguishers handy at a swanky event like this. Hope you can update soon!

BTW... totally worse songs in the world than "Mandy," though I strongly prefer the Me First and the Gimme Gimmes version. Punk vibes make many songs better. (I happen to be a natural born Mandy, in case you were wondering :) )

Author's Response: Hey BR! We'll find out what the fight organizers have for extinguishers shortly ... hopefully it will work better than Willow's! I agree that there are *lots* worse songs than Mandy, however my muse would hate it only 'cos Angel liked it. I have to admit that I actually like a lot of Barry Manilow songs and .... Angel might've seen me at a concert or two of his back in the day ... {{eeek!}} I hope I don't lose any readers for that soul-baring admission! Did you know that Barry wrote the McDonald's gingle 'You Deserve a Break Today' ...? And the 'Pepsi Generation' commercial ... Classics! heehee! Will have more soon. The fight itself is over ... now comes the battle of the blood. {hugs} -p4s 2012.01.26

You write a great fight scene, but why must there be a sacrifice? I can only imagine that Spike won't get the money which is unbelievably cruel considering the injuries Spike and now Buffy have sustained.

Author's Response: Hi Bridget! Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked the fight! There must be a price because my muse rarely gives anything without asking for something in return. But money really isn't the price - he likes his payments in blood and tears. We'll find out the price shortly ... Thanks sooo much for stopping in here! I do love hearing from you! -p4s 2012.01.26

Love reverse psychology Faith. Seems like she knows a thing or two about tough apples. :) And Angelpie slaying the tree. My mom's cat used to scale the tree. Liked to be eye level with everyone. And completely random side note, my first pet ever was an earthworm, named Daphne. I was like 5. We let her lose in the garden after like, 4 days, but still technically my first pet. Not too much interaction with a worm... So here goes me with more weird animals. :) A little scared of the next chapter... does not sound like the one to read right before bed... Will be back tomorrow!

Author's Response: LOL! BuffyRat ... you have an eclectic taste in pets! My husband raises earthworms for fish bait ... thus I have a vast, useless knowledge of them which I felt inclined to pass on to everyone. heehee! Author's Response: Hi Bridget! Well, I'm glad you don't think the story has become predicatble - I do worry about that. glad you like the little respites my muse kicks in, just when he thinks he's pushed everyone to the limit, he will sometimes let off the gas on the angst. Love that Bess is studying for the GED. I agree with Buffy that "naughty knots" are the best!! I have no fingernails left after this one. I knew you and your muse would leave us hanging over who won but... I can't believe ya'll left us hanging like this!!! I've called Cordy and arranged for her to send a recording of Angel singing Mandy. Ask your muse how he would like to hear that 24/7 for the rest of his existence?!! I love your suggestion so now I'm off to spend the day looking at the hot picture of Spike. More soon please.

Author's Response: Hi Melly! I got the recording and have been playing Angel singing Mandy for 12 hours straight - the result is now posted. I'm not 100% sure it had the full desired effect, but I'll keep working on him with the dreaded ditty. Glad you liked Bess trying for the GED again - now that she's got a bit of confidence (funny how that little kitty affected so many things in her life and will likely continue to). Chomps on sedative cookie.

And the fight is on, and no way to know how it will end. The characters thoughts and feelings were as always well made. Things are looking better for Bess, good, but her problem is that she's looking so young and will not age. Majby there could be an ageing illusion. I really liked the Buffy picture at the beginning, the surprice face was wonderful to see.

Author's Response: Hi Magnus, Glad you enjoyed the fight so far. Yes, that will be a problem for Bess ... but you coudl be right, some kind of glamour to make her look older might help her later. I came across that surprise face looking for some Faith pictures - I think she was being sarcastic with it actually in the show, but it worked perfectly, I thought. That was a Spike-less episode and to be honest, I only watched those the once the first time around, so I can't be sure that was a sarcastic face. Thanks soooo much for stopping in! Feel the love with this chapter! Faith using reverse talk-o-logy on Bess was indeed a sign of maturity on her part. Love the tradition Buffy and Spike have to bring in the New Year and ward off bad spirits! -Never mind watching the ball drop on New Year’s Eve when you can….opps! Never mind. Speaking of balls dropping, Angelpie sure did a number on the Christmas tree ornaments she really is an attention stealer. Channeling Drusilla…”Bad Kitty – hiss!” The fight scene is really making me dread reading about it since your muse is feeling all bad and dust happy. Maybe it is time to bake your muse cookies that have sedatives in them. Goes to look up recipes in my “Happy Meals for Naughty Muses Cookbook.

Author's Response: LMFAO!!!!!!!!! nope, no need for these two to watch the ball drop ... not the one in NYC, anyway! LOL! Angelpie I think could be a bit of a hambone ... wanting the spotlight. Not sure she really wants that much spotlight from Spike, tho! :P LOL about the cookbook! Is that available for the Kindle? I can borrow it from Billy... I will DEFINATELY look into it ... perhaps I can sneak the end of the fight in while he's napping ... {{huge hugs}} -p4s

Great talk between Faith and Bess and of course I loved how Spike and Buffy finally talked and "worked" through Buffy’s worries. Somewhat relieved to learn Spike has been researching the Pele demon but your muse still has me very worried. I don't suppose he would care if I threaten to actually throw myself over a cliff if Spike loses the fight? Maybe if I threaten to throw him over a cliff? Would that work? More soon please.

Author's Response: LOL! Melly ... please don't toss yourself over a cliff!! Of course, my evil blue-eyed muse is just smirking, I think he's envisioning you tumbling arse over tits down into the grand canyon or something now, through cactus and rocks ouch! ... eeeek!! I can't understand why your muse would even want Spike to lose. I am sure that he will be beaten within an inch of his unlife, but it would be beyond cruel to have him lose. I hope that you and your muse find it in your heart to give this family a financial break.

Author's Response: My muse is evil - pretty much he thinks he will make us all very unhappy if Spike loses, and that just makes him jump up and down with giddy joy! He also thinks it would be 'unexpected' and tells me I've gotten too predictable ... I am, at this moment applying torture devices to my evil Blue-eyed muse, but thus far, he's simply enjoying them ... {sigh} ... Another chapter without angst, that's unexpected :-) Good talk between Faith and Bess. I could almost see Faiths envy, all the things she wants now. So the Pele demon is like that one he fought in the trials on the show. That means he can win but he can lose. But I wonder how you will bring him back if he gets killed?

Author's Response: Hi Magnus - yes, the Pele demon will be the guy Spike fought in the trials in canon... perhaps with a little surprise that my muse kicked in for 'fun'. So yes, we know Spike can win - but he can also lose ... and how to bring him back if he dusts? That's gonna be tricky. Glad you liked the talk between Faith and Bess ... I think it did hit the mark a bit with Bess, although she had already started leaning away from her old ways, this was a nice nudge for her and will come to mind with her larter on in the story. Ok ... get ready for some action ... or different kind of action and angst coming up... Thanks much for stopping in! -p4s 2012.01.21

Glad the cat gets to keep her name. Spike can call her something else, though we all know the cat will likely do its bet to not do anything that Spike tells her. As do most cats... And it seems like it was a pretty good home coming. More Drama to come for sure, but this all went pretty well. And Faith and Lindsey... Could work. Gonna have to watch out for that. Update soon!

Author's Response: Hi BuffyRat! I'm thinking that cat and Spike are gonna have a rocky relationship, perhaps forever. As you point out - cats have a habit of not exactly doing what you say. A good talk between Buffy and Bess. Spike may not like the cats name for now, but when Angel dislike it then Spike will love it.

I can't really see Faith as the Slayer-general, I see her more like a loner or team leader. Faith is too hot headed and I wouldn't place Buffy in that position either. I would have put Wesley in charge in case of an emergency. He is like in the later Angel seasons in this story right? In that case he's clear headed, logical and not afraid to act when needed.

Author's Response: Hi magnus! Oh! That's a great point - if Angel hates it, Spike will LOVE the kitties name! I hadn't considered that Angel would hate it! I see your point on the Slayer -general and Wes is much like the late seasons of Angel. Of course, although the final decisions come down to the general, it's not like they're in a bubble and I'm sure Faith will turn to her friends as well as Wes and Giles for input before making decisons - we hope. Wes is definately not afraid to make the hard decisions, for the greater good, is he? We'll see how that plays out later - it will hopefully not come into play for a while, but you never know. Thanks so much for great input!! -p4s 2012.01.21

Love how the family reunion went smoothly, almost as if Bess only was gone a day. The name “Angelpie” really should make Spike happy; it’s a good way to get back at his sire. Little Billy defending Bess and Angelpie with the jaw ticking and the eyes blazing was just too adorable! A “mini-me” version of Spike! He was like the little “Seabiscuit” of that match of emotions. Too, too endearing. I love the idea of Slayer Olympics, this could really be a good way to find out the strengths they have within their ranks to make “special teams” for particular circumstances. They can have their very own motor club now that Bess know how to ride a Harley. Imagine the roar and rumble of slayers on “hawg’s” going against demon bikers similar to “Razor” and their biker gangs. The slayers have a magical scythe, so if they can have bikes designed with weaponry built into them and become like a biker dragoon squad that would be every male’s fantasy. (Next calendar edition – biker slayers and their rides!) Spike would be so proud! I cannot blame Buffy for not wanting to be the general. Her main concern and focus should be the safety and welfare of her family now that a prophecy is hanging over their heads. So, Faith mentioning that Lindsey had to walk over burning coals in Nepal, does that mean that they have the solution to Spike’s upcoming match against Pele? So Spike’s frame of mind should be that it’s a matter of belief that he won’t get burned? Mind over matter kinda thing? If that’s the case, then will he have to be hypnotized to not feel the burn? Your muse is evil! Sedate him!

Author's Response: Hi Vette!! I just *love* Billy! Definately a little mini-me of Spike! So sweet but also willing to stand up for others when pressed. LOL on the Biker Slayers and their rides! Whoo-hooo! Hot! Now, just what (who?) would Buffy's ride be in that scenerio? heehee! I can see Faith as a biker chick, too ... got a good start there! Not sure that Spike can use the same methods that Lindsey did, since he's more combustable, I don't think mind over matter will work this time. We'll see. {cue evil laugh track} My muse is now singing ' I wanna be sedated....' He is definately evil!! Thanks so much for your always indepth and amusing/entertaining reviews! I'm not sure I like it but I understand why Buffy wants Faith to be the Slayer-general. I am really looking forward to Angelpie wrapping Spike around her little paw! Thanks for another wonderful update! More soon please.

Author's Response: Hi Melly! Poor Spike, he's totally outnumbered on the Angelpie fight - that's one he will never win! I really struggled with who should be the Slayer-general, but after much internal debate between myself, I decided that after all Buffy had been through with the Wish World and losing Bess, and all the prophecies hanging over them, that she would want to put her family first for once. Not sure how that will work out, honestly, 'cos my muse doesn't share his secrects for the future with me. I have a feeling that there could be a conflict between Buffy and Faith which would leave Buffy and Spike standing alone ... (geee - sounds vaguely like something that happened in s7, doesn't it?)
