Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!!! This chapter is one of my favorites. “She’s a half-baked granola bar with an extra helping of nuts” reminds me of a Buffett song that says we human beings were taken out of the cosmic oven too soon! After meeting Gertie, Annie has certainly become a force of and for Nature hasn’t she? The zeal of the convert! I hope she doesn’t stray too far off the path before her next visit with Gertie. She's not one to be labeled, I can tell you that. I'm glad the description of the house didn't bore you! I was indulging my muse, which, I sort of have to - he's so cute and I kinda need him (and love him, heehee!) ! :) Glad you liked Billy's dialogue with the computer - I was afraid he'd sound a little 'multiple personality', but I think you're right - he is Spike's (and perhaps more so: William's) son all the way. Will have more as soon as I can. My beta reader is getting married this week. I usually try to keep a few chapter 'buffer' for things like this (or for when my muse decides to watch the Olympics instead of write), but I only have one more ready (because we indulged in watching half-naked men swimming and tumbling and stuff during the Olympics). I think Dawn's spent a lot of time figuring life out and the mentors she's had, from Willow and Giles to her new friends, Gertie and Shiro (who we will meet - Gertie soon and Shiro later), have helped her a lot as well.
