OH, SPIKE!!! ROFL! That is just tooooo utterly perfect!

And then poor Spike seeing the future and the 'no,no,no' tirade. Oh, our poor, poor baby. {cuddles Spike}

I have to wonder how things might've gone off canon if Buffy got a glimpse of the future ... the FAR distant future perhaps with the world-savage from her favorite mortal enemy. She would, of course, deny the truth of it... but then, how did she KNOW she needed Spike at the very end when everyone else wanted him gone? hmmmmmm... It would be handy for her to figure that out sooner rather than later, however.

And yes, there is no way to not see a bear - on TV or in a zoo or even in the wild - without a Spuffy fan's mind going, 'You made a bear! UNDO IT! UNDO IT!' That is one of Spike's classic scenes and you guys did a wonderful job of explaining his wigginess and Buffy's quick, sincere apology.

You guys did an awesome job on this whole story. I do hope you can find a way to get together again and grace us with more of the same! Very, very enjoyable with true-to-canon characters. I adored the Willow/Spike interaction and the UST was, as always, perfection. Thanks so much!

I'm so happy you did :D We were quite concerned about the ending, after our beta informed us we were EVIL and couldn't just end it there :P We definitely would like to do a sequel and will try to organise matters as soon as life allows. I have been reading offline, so I've been remiss in leaving feedback. So even before I read the next chapters, I wanted to say: I'm enjoying this story!

I particularly appreciated the interactions of Spike with people other than Buffy, and Giles with the wolf spirit. It seems a richer story than if it merely focused on the main pair.

Love all Buffy's embarrassment and Spike taking the piss out of her. These ware-bears seem to be quite a problem, however. Can they be hurt after they turn solid? B/S didn't actually try, just ran - which, granted, was probably a good idea, but still a question.

Author's Response: Classic Buffy not thinking before she speaks ;) Unchipped, early season Spike is my fave, hands down! I love stories where he and Buffy are forced to co-operate for a common goal and all the snark, bickering and UST that comes from it :D The spirit animals can flicker betwen solid (to inflict harm on their victim) and incorporeal (in order not to take any damage) at will, so they are still 'invulnerable' while in animal form I'm afraid. Spike has experience in that from before Buffy & co arrived - just to clear that up. I am now very excited to hear what you think of the rest of the story! :D -3hrs
