I enjoyed this fic. very much...the pain that Spike had been feeling is so well written and has been played out in words so vivid that I couldn't stop reading.
Once again, you have the voices of all the characters, including those of Fred and Wesley, down very well and that helps keep the reader in the story.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

Great ending. I liked that not everything was resolved; that we are left to question and figure out things for ourselves. But that Buffy and Spike got a deserved beginning and the possibility of a wonderful future. Happy Holidays to you too!

This story was wonderful. And what a perfect ending. Great Christmas present. Thanks for writing it. Right now, I wish you'd be the one with the power over AtS season 5 in your hands. You would have done a fine job. Merry Christmas, Holly.

Oh please God, let her not be with someone else or something equally horrifying. I loved that you compared Lilah and Spike. I always thought of Lilah as being the female Spike of AtS. I adore this story. It's very real and the character's feelings are so very close to the surface. You're very good at describing and explaining feelings and emotions.

I just hope you won't go with the whole "Immortal" crap they shoved down our throat on the show. Please? I just can't deal with this. But I'll just have to trust you. Go Fred! I can't believe she managed to make Angel face the truth that Buffy is not his thing. On the show, he'd say he loves Buffy and would be waiting for her to be "baked", the next day would be saying he loves Cordelia, and then date Wolfgirl. I thought he was such an hypocrite. It's good that you made him see that he belongs with Cordy. I'm crossing my fingers for Spike and Buffy now.

Your descriptions are absolutely amazing. I especially loved the description of Wesley at the beginning of the chapter. Perfection. And I read a few story that had Spike turning human, but non were as realistic as yours as far as him reacting to the transformation. You can feel all of his conflicting emotions when you read. You did a flawless job. Kudos

I'm really liking this so far. I think it's extremely well written and the story has amazing potential. The whole idea is great. It's what they didn't have the guts to do on the show because they couldn't put the spotlight on Spike instead of Angel. But this would have made so much more sense considering that Spike got his soul on purpose and saved the world selflessly whereas Angel's soul was forced into him and the only reason he save people is to make his own guilt disappear and get his redemption (pretty selfish in a way if you ask me.) I really loved this: "The entire affair reminded him acrimoniously of the tale of the man that was granted a choice between Heaven and Hell and ended up selecting torment because they had the better sales pitch. " It describes very well what happened on the show. They did get seduced by the sales pitch when they decided to go work for W&H. They explained it away with the "lets work from the inside" thing, but the gigantic office with specially treated windows sure as hell helped. Good story.

Love this chapter!! Thank you for having Fred stand up to Wes. I adore Wes, in all his incarnations, but the one thing I could never buy into was the Fred-Wes relationship because of how he treated her - like a fragile little girl who had to be coddled and protected. Granted, some times she did behave that way, but that does not make a good relationship. I like this version of their relationship better. But, oh, the pain of the Buffy-Spike reunion! lol I hope it happens next.

Got my attention. Love it when Spike has a one track mind and it's a Buffy track. Intersting start. Keep it coming
