This is my first fanfic. It's only Spuffy in the way that both characters are in the story but they are not 'together' in any way except Spike trying to fight the good fight with Buffy and the Scoobies. This is a Spike/Other fic. And it's my OC (Original Character) that I thought would be an interesting twist. It's set around Season 5 of BTVS.

Alone... Separated... Unloved.... Where is she to go now?

Lily Jamison didn't know it yet but... she was special. Special in the way that she was between life and death. Half human, half vampire... she never found out who her father was but it didn't matter. The demon side of her she never wanted to embrace... kept pushing her to hunt, kill, and feed.

Lily was a beautiful girl. Tall, long brown hair... almost to the middle of her back. It has small waves at the ends and she has piercing sky blue eyes.

Her mom has similar features but she has brown eyes and so does her father... or so she was told.

Her mother did the best she could, keeping her away from the darkness as much as she knew how.

She needed answers... so she fled to the one town that she thought could shine some light on her unfortunate situation. Sunnydale, California... the Hellmouth. Or so it said in several books she read to maybe help her understand herself.

So, she left home... wrote her mom a note telling her that she was sorry but she needed to know more. She grabbed all the money from her bank account, which was surprisingly large..., her mom must have been putting money away.

It was fifteen thousand dollars. Her mom must been working a second job behind her back. Lily was only seventeen and a lot of the time she was at a sitter when her mom was working so it was a good possibility that her mom got a second job.

She got a taxi to take her to the bus stop. It was seven in the morning when she left; she knew her mom wasn’t going to be up for a few more hours. The taxi ride seemed short once she hit the Oklahoma City bus stop. Right away she knew she was getting a one way ticket to Sunnydale.

*^*^*^*^*

She didn't have many bags, the bag with her money which was in her satchel that she carried on her and the other two had all her clothes. She carried her pillow and blanket on the bus so she could try to rest. It was going to be a long drive.

In the middle of the afternoon around two. They had a half hour stop in Nevada near Reno to stretch and eat... maybe even a bathroom brake if necessary.

She was hungry... not only for food but for blood. The pain wasn't horrible but it was unpleasant. She walked up to one the strangers on the bus... it was a girl around her age.

"Where you heading?" she asked sweetly.

"California... I wanted to go to LA but they only had tickets to Sunnydale. I'll be taking another bus once I get there." She smiled at Lily.

"What's your name?"

"Stephanie."

"Would you do me a favor Stephanie?"

"Sure, as long as it doesn't involve money. I don't have much." She said it with such heartache.

"Just close your eyes and count to ten. Once you hit ten. I'll give you something. If you feel that's too much to ask. I'll leave."

"Okay." she said with such anticipation.

Once she closed her eyes. Lily vamped out and took a bite from her wrist. Breaking the delicate skin. Once the blood started to flow, she said "start counting."

She counted so slowly, part of it was because Stephanie was getting weak, a lot quicker than a normal girl. Lily realized she was sick.

She couldn't taste it but she could smell it. She stopped at seven. Licking the wound... it closed almost instantly. No trace of a bite at all.

Lily instantaneously was back her seat... pretending to sleep. Stephanie opens her eyes after ten. No one was there, people where coming back onto the bus when she noticed a large fold of money in her lap. She quickly put it in her bag.

Was it her imagination or was it angel sent with a gift. Whatever it was, she was thankful.

Lily was no longer hungry but part of it was that it disgusted her to have to feed from people. So only had to do it once a week... but still.

Just a few more hours and she would be there... Sunnydale. The only place she knew she could get answers.

*^*^*^*^*

Now arriving in Sunnydale, California. After four more hours in a bus that wouldn't stop shaking all the way from Reno.

Six o'clock... the sun is just setting. Which means Lily's demon is about to show... how very uncool.

"I really need a room... and fast." She told herself. Hopefully there's a hotel somewhere close by.

After getting dropped off with a taxi into the center of town... she couldn't find a hotel anywhere. Anytime she tried to ask someone, no one acknowledged her.

She finally found a Motel 6, settled in and wanted to go exploring around town.

She walked for a bit, passing a coffee shop and then she heard the thumping of music. Small groups of people were going towards... she quietly followed behind them. Maybe she could find some more social people there.

The Bronze. What an interesting name for a club but she'd never been to one before, why stop herself from having a good time.

They let her right in; the bouncer must have been in a good mood. There were couples on the dance floor, grinding and practically screwing on the dance floor.

She saw a table free and grabbed it. It had a good view of the floor, and the people dancing. A pretty waitress came up and asked what she was wanting.

"I'm not sure... it's my first time here. Do you have coke?" The waitress answered yes with a happy smile... she came back with her drink and some note attached to her receipt.

It said, "Looking for a friend?"

"Who gave you this note?" She asked, curious to who would even notice her.

"That blonde guy at the bar. The Billy Idol wannabe" She said, pointing to his direction. "You know him?"

"No... I'm new in town. He must be looking for a 'FB' to spend the night with."

“He’s a regular; he usually cruises around the club. Looking at everyone dancing and chatting about.”

“He’s probably lonely, looking for some loving.” Lily smiled at her. The waitress left, but the man was still there. Just staring at her every so often.

He was handsome… in a dark and sexy way for sure. But there was something familiar about him, a sense she felt all through her body.

She got tired of just sitting there and watching everyone else dancing. She decided to join the crowd; a great song was starting to play. It was Vampire by People in Planes; the song really spoke to her after finding out what she was.

The beat was just perfect; not too fast and not too slow. She danced to beat gracefully, jiving along to the sharp notes and that lovely voice. What a way to drown the sorrows with a good song.

As she glided around the floor, she started having that feeling again. The familiar feeling; the feeling of connection… life… and blood lust. She closed her eyes and tried to ignore it, she opened her eyes as she felt a hand touch her waist.

It was a man… the man from the bar who gave her that feeling. He grabbed her softly and leaned her against his chest and then she figured it out. The familiar feeling; he was a vampire.

But she wasn’t frightened, she felt like she never had felt before… whole. They danced together so passionately, even though they didn’t know each other.

She didn’t turn around, didn’t face him… they just danced. Once the song ended, he pushed her hair aside and whispered, “Do you want to keep dancing?”

Lily asked so quietly, “Who are you?”

“The name’s Spike luv.”

Chapter 2

Spike? She thought. What kind of a name is that? But that accent was making her melt. God, a British accent, the one thing she couldn’t resist. So instead of asking questions, they just kept dancing. Another song started to play, a great song; 11:11 by In This Moment. A lot of the people left the dance floor but Lily and Spike were among 5 other couples still dancing.

He spun her around so he could get a more intimate look of her face. She was bloody gorgeous; lovely blue eyes that he could just swim in and her heart was so calm.
It fluttered like a butterfly’s wing beat; smooth and light.
If he didn’t have a chip in his head he would bite her in an instant… if he could. He would do things to that sweet, innocent body that would have her begging for mercy… in more ways than one.

“You new to town luv?” Spike asked. Looking into that ethereal face.

“Yes actually, I just got dropped off at the bus stop. I’m really new to town; I just ended up here by accident… I followed the crowd.”

“Well then, it’s my lucky day that the crowd brought you in pet.”

Lily was getting nervous; she was worried about leading him on. Not that she wasn’t interested but she’d never had sex before… of any kind. And she needed to be cautious since her demon loved to prowl with danger.
Even though she was staring into such innocent eyes… she knew what he was and what he was capable of.

“So pet, you wanna go somewhere a little more private?” The way he said was making her shutter with lust. It was making her wet… soaking actually. Spike caught the scent right away.

“I… I really….”

“Really what pet?” He was gliding his hands down her back and pulling her against him. Grinding his bulge against her, making his arousal notch up to one to ten which made her a little nervous.

“I really… need a bed… m-my bed.”

“Great… where to pet?” He smirked so cocky. He grinded a little slower… gives her time to finally say something.

“I mean… I need some sleep. It was a long ride and I don’t have the energy to entertain tonight.” She saw him just smile at her, not real angry but disappointed.

“Sure pet… I understand.” He just let her go and he started walking out. She had… no wanted to go after him. So she followed.
He had to adjust himself… man he was regretting that move. Here come the blue balls… bloody hell.

Just as his night seemed to be becoming bleak… he heard someone sprinting behind him.

“Wait!” She yelled. He stopped and turned slowly to face her. She was catching her breath before trying to talk.

“How about we get together another time… I’m moving here but I just need a while to get settled. If that’s okay?”

“Sure pet… got digits?” Now things were getting better, he thought.

“What?”

“Do you have a number? That I could call you on?” He laughed.

“Oh… duh. What a ditz I am… silly me.” She grabbed a pen from her pocket and wrote down her number on his palm. Just holding his hand was giving her chills… which he responded to happily.

After she was done, he grabbed her hand and kissed it… so sweetly. GOD this man was going to be trouble.

“So just call me… give me a few days to settle. With that cockney accent of yours, I’ll know who it is.”

“You dissing my accent luv? Because yours is… is… well I don’t what kind it is.”

“Yankee. If that helps any.”

“Not really, but I can find a computer and maybe figure it out.”

“Well, I’m exhausted… I’ll see you later Spike.” She started to walk away, very slowly and quietly.

“Night pet.”

*^*^*^*^*

The next few days were busy. She got to Sunnydale on a Friday night, spent the weekend looking for an apartment or maybe a loft. With the money she had, she could put a good down payment for a few months until she found a job.

A job… that was going to be interesting. She just finished high school and with no prior job experience, it was going to be a hassle finding a job.

But she’ll have a few months to hunt for one until the buckling down really begins.

Prior to her leaving, she had changed her address to Sunnydale, California. But she would have to go pick-up her cellphone bill at the post office until she found a place to live.

She found a nice loft, close to the center of town but also very close to the town cemetery… not one of the highlights of her new digs.

When you walked in, you had the living room/kitchen, more living room than kitchen. The kitchen had a standard fridge, a microwave and an oven with a two ring stove. Perfect for a girl living alone.

Down the hall from the kitchen was the bathroom and of course her bedroom. The bathroom had forest green walls and a palm tree theme, but the shower and tub were huge so that was a bonus. The tub was wide and deep, wonderful for a long soak… with water pressure to die for when it came to the shower.

Her bedroom was decent; of course she didn’t have a bed yet or even a bed frame for that matter.

She’s been sleeping on the floor the last few nights… until she would go house shopping.

Wednesday night… her hunger was getting to her. She needed blood and soon before things would get ugly… before she would get ugly.

She decided to walk around town; maybe getting some fresh air would help. Along the way she saw a butcher shop… perfect, she could get animal blood. Wasn’t exactly what she’s been craving but it would help.

After getting 5 bags of cow blood, she walked out feeling a little calmer but her stomach sure wasn’t. She decided to open one up in the back alley before her stomach would eat itself.

Oh my god, cows blood never smelt so good… but since it was cold it was a bit thick. She had to chew off the tip of the sealed bag but after that… it was bliss.

Thick and kind of gross bliss but once it hit her taste buds she vamped out, not on purpose… it just happens.

She sucked the bag dry pretty quick, and thank god no one noticed her.

“God, I was so hungry.” She exclaimed to herself. Now, she could eat some real food and actually keep it down.

Just as she was heading back to her place, her phone started to ring… it said UNKNOWN. She had a tingle down her spine… it was Spike.

So, she flipped it open and answered, “Hello?”

“Hello pet, I fancied ringing you up. How you been?”

She was hesitant before she answered. “I’ve been good, found myself a place. It’s a loft on Cherry St. near the cemetery. Besides the view of the cemetery it’s perfect.”

“I’ve seen that place, always fancied it myself. Never had the cash to grab it though pet.”

“So… how have you been?”

“Could be better pet… wish I had a lovely lady to share my bed with but I’m coping.”

Lily hesitated on what she wanted to say but decided to brave and just say it. “Would you like some company?

"You could come over and we could talk. I don’t have any furniture but she could hang out on the carpet and talk.”

“Are you inviting a handsome stranger over to your house pet?” She could practically hear the smirk through the phone.

“Yes I am… only if you want. But if you want alcohol you’ll have to bring your own. I’m not legal and I have nothing in fridge yet except ice.”

“Sure pet, give me twenty and I’ll be over.”

Okay then… I’ll see you soon.” She hung up… she almost jumped with joy but she was nervous.

He was very handsome and with her knowing what he was, she had to be careful. She put her mom’s cross necklace around her neck… it didn’t sting since she was only half vampire.

So, she skipped along back home… looking forward to her knew friend coming over.

She didn’t know it but Spike was watching her in the shadows… he didn’t even know her name yet but she was liking this girl. But then trouble strolled up… the Slayer.

“Hey Slayer, got nothing better to do then to mess around with us nasty’s?” He smirked. Curling his tongue behind his teeth.

“Sorry William, I hate to burst your bubble but… wait. No I don’t, I love bursting your bubble.” Buffy was so quirky, she always thought she was clever.

“Well I’d love to stay and chat but I got company waiting in me?” He smiled.

Buffy was surprised. “Really? Who would want your revolting company?”

“A bird I met at the Bronze… she’s new in town and I’m just showing her some hospitality.”

“Okay?.. that’s just strange. She must be out of her mind then letting you anywhere near her without wanting to scream in terror… oh wait, you’re chipped. The Big Bad can’t chase the puppies anymore… poor Spike.” The way she said it was so cruel and bitchy… if he could he’d tear the smirk off her face.

“Shove off Slayer… I got to get myself and the bird a bottle to share.” He tried to walk off but she shoved him.

“I don’t know this girl, but she’s an idiot letting you anywhere near her. You don’t have a soul and you don’t deserve anyone above you.”

“Piss off Slayer.” He shoved her out of the way… it hurt like a bitch but it was worth it.

Spike stopped by Willies and stole a bottle of his best scotch… well aged and never opened until tonight that is.

*^*^*^*^*

Lily was setting up the living room… she laid her large and only blanket on the floor with the few pillows she had for them to sit on or lay against.

She stopped by a cheap grocery store and bought some solo cups… plus some Coke to maybe chase down whatever he might have been bringing.

As she set the cups on the floor with the few cubes of ice she had… she heard a knock.

Her heart started to race… she was excited, scared and happy at the same time.

She quickly checked her clothes… she wore a red blouse with her only pair of clean jeans. She wanted to look nice and casual with just a hint of sexy.

She opened the door to see Spike leaning against the door frame with a bottle in his left hand. He was wearing a tight red t-shirt a long black leather jacket with tight black jeans.

“Hello luv, can I come in?” He asked in a very low and sultry tone.

Lily was going to regret inviting in a vampire but he was the only person she knew in Sunnydale… and she needed someone.

“Of course, won’t you please come in?” Lily smiled, and he walked through the threshold.

Spike was actually nervous; he’d never met someone who was so comfortable with him. He needed to try really hard and not fuck it up majorly.

“Wow… you look ravishing.” And he meant it, she looked gorgeous.

“Thank you… I just thought since you were coming over I shouldn’t look like a lazy slob.” She smiled nervously.

“Well… how about a drink to loosen up the nerves. I brought scotch.” He smiled.

Lily was feeling all kinds of nerves, maybe a drink would help. “Sure… I’ve never had it before but it’s not like I’m driving.” She was trying to be funny… he did laugh so that was a good sign.

Spike took of his duster and laid it near the blanket, he sat down on floor next to the cups. Filled each without about two shots worth and gave her one.

“Here pet… cheers.” He shot his down fast… she watched his Adams Apple jump up and down and then watched his tongue lick his lips clean. Man he must be a good kisser she thought.

“Thanks… bottoms up.” She took the shot before she sat down. “Holy shit that burns.” She moaned as the burning sensation, she wobbled a bit before he grabbed her hand and pulled her down to the floor.

“It’s a bit strong for newbies… like you.” He couldn’t help but chuckle.

“No shit Sherlock.” She said jokingly. As he poured them each another, she couldn’t help but watch him with fascination and curiosity.

This was going to be a long night.

*^*^*^*^*

Lily’s first drink was a doozy. Holy shit she was a lightweight… so far. Maybe in the future she’ll be able to hold her liquor just not right now.

“I don’t think I can have another… I’ve never drank before and I really don’t want the pain of my first hangover right now.”

Spike looked at her unfazed. “That’s alright pet, more for me.” He downed his and hers with ease.

“I’m sorry but… how can you drink that shit?! It tastes awful.” Lily exclaimed. She laughed at herself and Spike joined the chuckle.

“It’s an acquired taste… after a few years of course. Once you get really plastered it tastes great.”

He smirked. Spike thought of himself as really suave and alluring. He was going to figure her out, even if it took all night and day after.

Spike wanted to start out easy but the drink was already getting to his head. “So pet… what’s your story? What brings you to Sunnyhell…? I mean Sunnydale?”

“Oh god… that is a long, complicated and sad story. I don’t know if I….” She didn’t want to start the night off so bleak. She decided to change the subject.

“How about you tell me more about yourself. I don’t really know you but I can tell there’s a long story that I’m just dying to hear.”

She lay on her stomach, her head and elbows on a pillow facing Spikes crossed legs… looking up at him with sweet, innocent eyes.

“Well, if we’re going to talk about ourselves. How about we make it fair?” Spike grabbed the other pillow beside him and laid himself in the same position Lily was in right in front of her.

Only about a foot apart from each other… eye to eye.

“Oh really?” She asked sarcastically. “Okay, how are we going to make this fair?” Lily smiled at him; Spike had such a beautiful face. Chiseled features; lovely eyes… and an accent that could break hearts.

“I ask you a question and then you’ll ask me one… well go back forth and have equal chances to ask. Every question doesn’t have to personal but I prefer questions that might embarrass me.” Spike wanted to see how brave he get her… eventually this bird was going to sing.

Lily wanted to break the ice. “I’ll go first then, plus it gives you time to come up with questions of your own.” Now she just had to think of a question… Spike could see the wheels turning in his head.

“When’s your birthday?” It was an easy question but nothing more interesting came to mind.

“June 12th. Now it’s my turn.” Spike was quick on his feet but Lily didn’t look satisfied.

“You didn’t give me a year, I have no idea how old you are.”

“I’m old enough pet…. How old do you think I am?”

“If I’m smart… which I know I am….” Spike grinned. “I would say between twenty-five and twenty-eight… at the maximum but I’m usually bad with age anyway.” Lily was being honest; when it came to age she was a bad guesser.

“Well… I’d say you make people feel better about themselves because I’m definitely older than that.” A hundred plus year on top of that, which made him ancient in her eyes but he wasn’t planning on spoiling there good time.

“Well… I’m only seventeen so you’ve probably only got ten plus years on me.” She knew that wasn’t true, she knew he was a vampire and vampire age was so much different them normal people. He could over a thousand years old and still be damn pretty… which he was.

“My turn.” His words caught her attention back from staring at him. Although it didn’t bother him, he was looking at her too.

“Where were you born pet? I imagine its nowhere south with that accent of yours.” She gave him a surprised look.

“I was born in North Dakota. My mom moved us down to Oklahoma when I was seven. But we never caught onto the southern twang so-to-speak. Thank god, I still can hear some of old classmates saying ‘hey ya’ll’ and ‘fixin to’. It drove me bonkers.” She laughed and then realized that she might not ever see her old classmates again… at least not anytime soon.

“Well pet, you’re too educated to have such poor grammar like your old mates. But I like the way you talk… it’s so Yankee.”

“Alrighty then, it’s my turn to ask you something.” She thought about it and then it came to her. “Do you have a special talent?”

“Well luv… I have many talents. Anything specific you really want to know?” He looked are her seductively it was making her shiver. He noticed that her heart was starting to race faster just by looking at her… if his heart could beat, it would feel the same. He never had feeling like this anyone else except his dark princess Dru… but she was out the picture.

“Nope.” She said with a pop. “Name off as many as you have.” She giggled. Lily wasn’t trying to be specific, she trying to be inconspicuous. She wanted to seem like a normal girl asking silly questions. Eventually she was going to ask him the real question that she already knew the answer to.

“I write poetry, it’s all very soppy stuff but its still poetry. I can hold my breath for a very long time… might even say inhumanly long. And I’m also very talented in bed… especially at giving head.” She blushed red right after she heard ‘bed’ but the ‘giving head’ part made her weak in the knees.

“Okay mister… I think you’ve had a little too much to drink.” Lily took the bottle away and put it on the kitchen counter. Spike watched her; she had beautiful curves and luscious breasts. He wanted to jump her right then and there. Make her scream and writhe in pleasure… but his jets would have to wait a while.

“You’re blushing pet… was it something I said?” He smiled, curling his tongue behind his teeth.

“Is that your next question?” She wasn’t sure she could answer him. Lily plopped back down onto the floor, sitting on her feet.

“Yes.” Damn, she had to answer him. It was the rules of the game. So, she took deep breath and waited for the words to come to her.

“I was surprised at the last part your answer from my question. I’ve never… had… had sex before so it kind of threw me off. And it’s fine that you have sex it’s just….”
“A little too much information?” She wasn’t even looking at him when she answered him but he could feel getting excited.

“Yeah… just a little.” She laughed nervously.

“Sex is not something to be ashamed of… I’m right good at fucking but I’m sorry if it made you uncomfortable.” Spike could smell her arousal, her eyes were closed but her body was going haywire. He didn’t want to do something wrong so he started to get up.

“Wait.” Lily finally opened her eyes when she heard him standing up. “Where are you going?”

“You were off in your own world and I didn’t want to disturb you so I’ll get out of your hair and let you get things settled.”

“But I don’t want you to leave yet.” She grabbed his arm; Spike felt the rush of heat through her hands. God this was hard for him to ignore.

“Pet, I don’t want to leave either but I have to… it’s not you, it’s me. Bloody hell that sounded like a bad movie.”

She laughed and smiled at him. Spike turned around and grabbed his duster. Lily opened the door for him and he walked out very slowly, taking his time leaving.

“Thank you Spike… for the great welcoming into town.”

She walked past the door frame to hug him. Lily took a moment and breathed him in, he smelled so sweet with just a hint of musk. Most vampires smelled like death but not Spike.

Spike took a moment too, she smelled like roses and lavender. He wanted to kiss her.

“No problem pet.” He wanted her… so badly it making him harder just thinking about it but she wasn’t ready.

Lily watched him walk down the sidewalk until she couldn’t see him anymore. She closed the door and breathed out a hard sigh. “God Lily, he must think you so mature.” She smacked herself.

Lily felt like she was in heat… her legs wanted to collapse. She walked over to the blanket on the floor and fell to her knees. Something inside her was going crazy; she curled over onto her back and started removing her clothes… slowly. She felt her skin as it glistened with sweat.

She pulled her blouse off over her head and her black tank as well. Her bra was sticking to her so she ripped it off.

Lily growled in passion and lust… her demon wanted something so primal and it was driving her mad.

She never felt like this before, Lily was glad Spike left when he did. She didn’t know what she might have done to him.

She couldn’t take it anymore… her fangs were starting to show and her lust was growing.

Lily unbuttoned her jeans and slid her hand past her underwear. Just the slight brush on clit made her growl in pleasure. “Oh fuck.” She exclaimed. She was so wet and the heat was driving her mad.

She flicked her clit and rubbed her labia ever so lightly but her orgasm came quick and very hard. “OH GOD! Oh Spike, huh uh uh uh UH!” She came so hard that her heart was beating out of her chest. She didn’t want to move, she was very satisfied and so was her demon.

The fangs were gone and her chest was heaving slower as her heart came back to a normal pace.

“God… now I need a shower.” Lily saw her whole body gleaming with sweat. She’d never felt like this before but the feeling was gratifying and fantastic. “I need to do that more often.” She thought to herself. She finally sat up; she grabbed her clothes and threw them in a pile, shedding the rest of her clothes off as she headed towards the bathroom for a very hot shower.

Little did she know that her show had one attendee… and his name was Spike.

“Holy fuck!” He thought. “She was that turned on by me? God I’m a bleeding idiot for leaving.” Spike did the right thing leaving but the raging hard on in his pants showed otherwise.

“Don’t worry pet… we’ll be buggering soon enough.” He adjusted himself painfully. “I just hope it’s bloody soon.”

A couple of weeks have passed by and Lily needed something to keep her busy. A job or a hobby at least, but a job would be a better option. So she decided to go job hunting… she went to the Bronze, the grocery store, coffee shop, Doublemeat Palace but her last stop was the Magic Shop.

She never believed in magic before, until she discovered what she really was. After that, anything was possible; including werewolves, demons and of course magic.

Lily walked about the store just to get a feel of the place; an older woman walked right up to her and said, “Welcome to the Magic Shop, my name is Anya. How can I service you?”

“Um hi, I was wondering by chance if you were hiring.” Lily asked kindly.

“I work here and we don’t need anyone else so you can just leave.” The way she said wasn’t obnoxious but was very rude in the sweetest manner. Before she could say anything else and older gentlemen stepped out from a backroom, overhearing Anya’s response.

“Anya, that was very rude.” Then he turned to Lily. “I’m terribly sorry; she doesn’t mean to be rude that’s just the way she is. My name is Rupert Giles, I’m the owner and to answer your question. It’s yes; we need some extra hands around here.”

“Great. I don’t have job experience but I’m a quick learner and I do everything a hundred and ten percent.” Lily couldn’t help but smile; he seemed like a real nice guy. And the accent did help, kind of reminded her of Spike.

“What is your name my dear?” Giles asked.

“Lily. Lily Jamison. I’m new in town, I haven’t been here long but I really like it.”

“Well Lily, how about you start tomorrow? Anya has some prier engagements and an extra hand would be nice. I’ll teach all I can and when Anya comes back she’ll be able to train you as well.”

Anya didn’t look so happy about that. “Giles! I don’t need any help, no offense tiny girl.”

Lily wasn’t tiny, she was normal sized… at least she thought she was.

“It’s fine Mr. Giles, if I’m not needed it’s okay.” She was just about to head out the door, Giles stopped her gently.
“Lily, you are needed. Anya will just have to deal with the changes; I’m the manager so I make the final decisions. Welcome to Magic Shop.” Giles pulled out his hand to shake hers, she shakes his with enthusiasm.

“Thank you so much Mr. Giles you won’t be disappointed.”

“Oh please, just Giles. Mister is too formal.”

“Even for an Englishman?”

“Well, honestly it makes me feel older so calling me Giles makes it easier.”

“Oh Giles, you’re not a day over 40.” Lily liked to flatter people, especially when she tries to make to friends.

“Well Lily, flattery will get you everywhere in this town. Especially with me.”

Anya looked rather flustered. “Giles, I’m cutting my shift short today. You don’t need me since it’s so slow, now if you’ll excuse me. I’m going home for many orgasms.”

“Wow.” Lily exclaimed. “She’s very blunt isn’t she?” Giles took off his glasses and cleaned them off. They seemed to have fogged a little.

“Yes well, Anya really has no restraint when it comes to telling what’s on her mind.”

“So, are you sure you don’t need me now?” Giles looked around the store and how barren it was.

“Maybe not out front quiet yet but you could do reorganizing in our basement. Lord knows the inventory is bloody awful.”

“Sure… I love to organize. Just give me a list and I’ll get it done.”

“Lily, I think this work relationship will grow famously.” She couldn’t help but smile. After Giles gave her the list, she headed down. It was a mess; crates, boxes and jars spread out everywhere and most of them had faded labels.

First thing on the list were a label maker and lots of cleaning supplies. Dust and everything else dirty came to die here, Lily could tell that much just from the look of it all.

She started moving boxes to make room when heard a rustling behind the shelves close to the stairs. Lily listened harder, kicking her other senses into high gear; there was no other heart except her own… it had to be a vampire.

She knew it was coming up behind her; thank god she always hid a stake under shirt. Before it could touch her shoulder, she spinned around pushing the vampire to the floor and straddling it to keep it immobile.

“Bloody Hell!” the vampire exclaimed. Holy shit it was Spike. Lily looked down at him with a stake right above his heart and a look of confusion on his face. “Is that how you greet all your friends pet?”

“Only the ones that like to scare me.” She was sitting on his waist, she moved the stake to the floor next to them but keeping it close by.

“Why do you have a stake love? Afraid of big bad vampires?” Spike smirked. He had the feeling she knew all along what he was but needed proof, and there it was on floor next to them.

“It’s Sunnydale Spike, this town is crawling with them. You should know that yourself… you’re one too.” Before she could move off him, he flipped her over; pinning her arms above her head with full gameface on.

“Well well, look who’s the smart one. What are you, another Slayer like that last bitch Faith?”

“Who’s Faith? Wait, to answer your first part; no I’m not a Slayer and two, I didn’t know there were two Slayers.”

“If you’re not a Slayer, then what are you?” He decided to investigate by smelling her. Vampires could tell a lot about a person just by their scent; that’s how they know which the best next meal is. “Witch, demon, mutant, some military experiment?”

Lily struggled to break his hold but to no prevail. The feeling of him on top of her was making her feel so alive. Just like that night after he left.

“I’m not a freak, and I don’t like being treated like a monster. I just want to be normal.” She was getting upset and Spike noticed. He went back to his human features and just stared at her.

“You must not be normal then pet; most people who aren’t want to be.” He released her arms slowly and sat on her waist so she couldn’t get away so easily.

“You really want to know? I’ll tell you… but not here.” She finally shoved him off and straightened herself out. “I’m at work and I don’t want Giles knowing who and what I am either but you have to know; come by my place later tonight, at a less flammable part of the day and I’ll tell you.”

“You better not be running off, because I’ll find you and make you tell me. And I won’t be so nice about it, that I can promise.” A shiver ran down her spine… Spike disappeared so quick she didn’t which way he went.

“This is first, only and last time you try to make friends with a vampire.” She told herself. Lily didn’t know what to expect from Spike but she would be prepared; willing to fight but afraid to get hurt.

*^*^*^*^*

A couple hours later, Giles sent Lily home feeling amazing. Until she remembered her ‘date’ with Spike, she didn’t know how he was going to react.

She didn’t know how well this was going to go but it was already past sunset and she knew Spike would be out and about.

Lily got to her place with no real surprise that Spike was standing in front of the door. She walked up to him and he just smiled so smugly.

“Well pet, I see you weren’t too afraid to come back and face me.”

“Why should I be afraid to come back to my home? Unless you have an evil agenda?”

Spike smirked, his tongue curled behind his teeth. “Not yet love, in order to hurt you I have to know what you are.”

“What I am doesn’t make me who I am, it’s just blood.” She pushed him out her doorway and walked inside; Spike quickly followed.

“So pet, what’s your story? How far does the evil blood run in your family?” He chuckled.

“I’m not evil! But… my father was… is, he’s one of your kind. An evil bloodsucker who only wants to feed, kill and destroy everything in their path.”

“Well who is this bloke? He sounds like a blast; who knows, I might have killed a few people with him.” He laughed lightly.

“This isn’t funny! He took advantage of my mom’s kindness and she’ll never forgive herself for what she had to hide from me! The day I meet Angelus, I swear he’s getting a piece of my mind… and fists.”

After the word ‘Angelus’, Spike wasn’t listening anymore. His sire… HIS SIRE had a child with a human, how is that even possible.

“I’m sick of being this freak Spike! I just want to be normal and not have to worry about hurting someone.”

“You’re part vampire pet, hurting people is part of the package. I’m a whole vampire and when I drink form someone; it’s like getting high and having the best shag of your life.”

“No! I hate it, I’ve never wanted to feed on people; I only did it when I had too. I hate my life and I hate being like this Spike.”

“I can show you how to love it; being a vampire is a primal, sensual and it consumes you all the way to your core. Let me show you baby, the darkness is nothing you need to fear.” He tried to comfort her but she pushed away. Locking herself in the bathroom; he could smell the tears from behind the door.

“I just want answers Spike… I don’t want to be someone’s plaything; especially not yours.”

“Oye… you’re not a plaything; you’re a human being with a part of yourself that you don’t understand but I can help you with that. I just want to help you Lily, I can get you answers.” She didn’t answer him, she just kept crying. There was only thing he could say to make her listen, so he said it. “I know where to find Angelus.”

Lily’s heart skipped a beat. She opens the bathroom door and pinned him against the wall; her hand around his through and her eyes glowing. Her eyes weren’t yellow like regular vampires; hers were more like a neon blue, Spike had never seen such beautiful eyes.

“Where?” That was all she asked, but Spike just laughed as she tightened her grip on his throat.

“No need to breathe love, so squeeze all you want. Although, I do have a thing about it during… you know.”

“Ugh… Spike this is not the time. You said you know where to find Angelus and I want to know how?” She loosened her grip from his throat and let him go. Her eyes faded back to her regular baby blue eyes. Spike could swim in those eyes.

“Yeah I do… but what do I get for it? I’m not giving you valuable information without getting something in return.”

He smiled so viciously and yet she couldn’t help but smile on the inside. He couldn’t help but ooze charm.

“I don’t really have anything Spike… nothing of value anyway. I came here with I needed and I don’t have much. But, what can I do to get some answers? I’ll do anything… even if it’s something I don’t want to do.”

Spike was so tempted to ask for what he really wanted… her. Wrapped in silk, or chains, in his bed to do and please him in every way but he couldn’t do it. He was man and a monster but not a rapist… that was Angelus’ gig. So, he decided to ask for the next best thing.

“I want to live here… with you. I have a shitty place, a crypt actually and your apartment is big enough for two. Also, I need blood, and not any kind of animal, I want human. You can make a deal with a few blokes who work at the hospital. Not for too much dosh but just enough to now its good quality. So, how about it pet? You want the q and a’s or what?”

“Fine… it’s not unreasonable but it’s doable. But you have to sleep out here in the living room. The one and only bedroom is mine and if you want to come in my room, you have to knock first or get my permission. Got it?”

“Fine with me luv… but what about my blood?”

“I’ll buy you blood too but there will be some animal blood and normal food in the fridge which will be mine. If you want any you ask and if I want something of yours I’ll ask. I’m weaning myself off of human blood so you won’t have to worry about that.”

“Bollocks… I was hoping we could share a good o-positive.” He said it very sarcastically… what a pratt.
“One more thing… I do not want to see any naked Spike around the house. When you go to sleep and are under your blankets that’s fine but when we’re both up you need to have shorts or pants on. I’m still not completely okay with this but I want answers. We got a deal?” She put her hand out for a shake to complete their deal.

“Deal pet. This is going to a bloody revelation; I’ll be the best flat mate in the world.” That smile was oozing charm and sarcasm but she couldn’t help but smile.

“So… where do we find Angelus?”

*^*^*^*^*

“Wow… you like to move fast don’t you pet?”

“Time doing nothing is time wasted Spike and I don’t like to waste time.” She walked into her room to grab her phone from her purse.
“Call him.”

“What makes you think I have his number?”

“Well… you know where to find him so I assume you know how to get ahold of him. Am I wrong?”

“Actually pet you’re not wrong but, do you really want to talk to him on the phone?”

He was getting confused.

“No, I want you tell him to get his sorry ass to Sunnydale. Make up something that you know will get him here.”

“Fine pet… I’ll do my best.” Spike always knew he would need the poofs help sometime but this was not the situation he was thinking of.

As he dialed, he knew that one of Angel’s groupies was going to answer… probably Cordelia or maybe that prissy ex-watcher Weasley or something. Finally after a few rings someone picked it up.

[ “Angel Investigations, we help the helpless, this is Wesley speaking.” ]

[ “Hello mate, I need Angel. Put him on.” ]

[ “Oh Spike, what an unpleasant surprise to hear you calling. I’m sorry but Angel is a bit undisposed at the moment.” ]

[ “Look you prick, either put him on the phone or a beautiful young girl won’t be having such a nice evening.” ]

He heard him put the phone down. He knew that Wesley would tell Angel that it was Buffy who Spike was talking about.

Only Spike knowing that it was Lily who was going to tear him a new one if she didn’t get Angel on the route to Sunnydale.

[ “What did you do to Buffy Spike?” ] Angel sounded deeply unhappy which made Spike smirk.

[ “Nothing yet. But I do have some ideas.” ]

[ “Don’t make me come down there and take care of it personally Spike. You won’t like it one bit.” ]

[ “Oh… but that’s exactly what I want you to do. Meet me at my crypt around midnight tomorrow night or the pretty girl gets it.” ]

After that Spike hung up. He knew that Angel was going to be there, thinking about only one thing… save the girl.
Spike looked at Lily with a big smile.

“He coming tomorrow night, you’ll have your chance than to say your peace.”

“Really? It was that easy?” Lily was surprised, happy and scared at the same time. She was going to meet him… Angelus… her father.

“So now what? I don’t think I can sleep knowing he’s actually coming.” She looked at him. Spike saw an uneasy feeling look upon her face.

“It’s alright pet; you have plenty of time to prepare. How about we get you something to eat and then you’ll feel better eh?”

He reached his hand out to her; she hesitantly reached for it and grabbed his hand. He opened the door and led her out to his Desoto.

“Let’s go to the Bronze, they have this amazing flower onion thing that will help that pit in your stomach plus I’ll order it even if you won’t eat it.” She chuckled… finally, I got a laugh, Spike thought.

“Sounds good and it’s called a blooming onion. I’ve had one before and they are very delicious… minus the onion breathe afterwards.”

“Well then, let’s head over there then.” He drove the car out the apartment parking lot and drove towards the Bronze. He passed the coffee shop, the butchers and the Magic Shop.

The music coming from the door was boisterous and the pounding bass was earthshaking. Right away Spike walked towards the bar and ordered the blooming onion with a whiskey to drink. Lily asked for a coke and just looked around at all the people dancing, drinking and having fun.

“Wow. This place is popping isn’t it?” She asked Spike.

“I guess so, usually Buffy and the Scoobies would be here but I’m not looking for a splitting headache tonight. I’m just here to make a pretty dame feel better.”

He smirked, she blushed right away… grabbing hand and saying thanks.

“So, are you going to dance or do you just come here to stuff your face and drink?”

“That’s my usual scenario and I think I’ll keep it that way.” He shot down his whiskey quickly while second was already being poured.

“Whatever floats your boat Spike, I’m going to dance.”

He watched her waltz away, already moving her body to the beat of the music. It was good song too, the beat and bass was slow but the singer was mesmerizing… and so was Lily.

She swayed so gracefully to the song and every time she ran her hands down her chest… Spike had to adjust himself but he never left her sight.

Lily knew he was watching, Spike had a way of making her normal and he was the key to the closure she so desperately wanted with her father.

Thump… thump… thump…. hearts were racing as the song changed to something faster and Lily started to feel that pit in her stomach.

She rushed back to bar and started to stuff her face with the blooming onion.

“You okay pet, you seem to be starving the way you’re shoveling that down?”

“I’m starting to feel hungry again; I think I should go home before I do something stupid.”

Before she could flee, Spike grabbed her hand. “Don’t hide your true nature pet; it’ll get the best of you if you don’t control it.”

“I don’t think I can right now… I just feel dizzy. I need to get home, please take me back?”

He couldn’t resist those eyes. “Alright pet, let’s go home.”

The ride home was dead quiet; Spike sighed and kept wondering what he could do or say to help her feel better.
Blood was the first thing on his mind, if he could find a way to make her feed that would help tremendously.

“I’m sorry I ruined your night out.” She was sincere about it too.

“No worries pet, wasn’t much keeping me there except you.” He smirked and looked at her for just a second to see her smile.

They pulled in and Lily was out of the car right away; he had a feeling that the hunger was getting to her.

She walked to the fridge looking for a snack and the minute she opened it, everything looked disgusting. It revolted her and her stomach was rolling into knots. She was so dizzy from hunger that she fell to her knees in front the fridge.

She grabbed on the fridge drawers to stop her fall put knocked out everything on the shelf instead.

Spike heard the rattling from outside while he was having a smoke. He ran to the door and saw Lily on the floor clutching her stomach; crying in pain.

“Lily. Are you alright?”

“No! I’m so hungry Spike; I can’t see straight.”

“You won’t drink human and animal isn’t strong enough. You need the next best thing; and I’m going to give it to you.” Lily watched as he threw of his coat and rolled up his shirt sleeve.

“What are you doing?” She watched in shock as he vamped out; but before he could bite down on his own wrist, Lily grabbed his arm.

“No.” She exclaimed. “I can’t take your blood. I don’t know what it’ll do to me… or you.”

He looked at her; golden eyes and all and all he saw was the acceptance and no fear of what he truly was.

“You need this pet and if I have to; I will force feed you. You’re not going to suffer on my account.” Lily was surprised and yet thankful that someone wanted to be there for her.

“Alright… but I’m not vamping out. I hate how I look.”
“You are the most beautiful creature I’ve ever seen Lily; and that’s both sides.”

Lily was going to do it but on her accord and no one else’s. She grabbed his wrist and kissed it so softly that chills went up and down Spikes spine. His demon face fell and Lily saw his gorgeous blue eyes; she melted in those eyes.

Once her fangs fell and her eyes changed; Lily bit down and pierced the cold alabaster skin.

Both Spike and Lily felt a rush; she felt like her body was on fire and the blood coated her warm throat. Spike swooned as her warm tongue darted out to lick the small wound she made on his wrist and closed it.

“Thank you.” Lily said it so softly that Spike almost forgot what was really going on. He finally opened his eyes and looked at her; her fangs curled back and her natural sky blue eyes came back.

“You’re welcome. I hope that it helped some. You’ll be feeling a little high for a while but that’s normal for any young vampire that drinks a masters blood.”

“Master? What the hell does that mean? This doesn’t mean that I’m your slave or anything right?” Spike could see the fear in her eyes.

“No pet… not unless you submitted to me; this was not why I fed you my blood. It was sustenance, that’s all.”

“Well, thank you… again. I feel much better and now I think I’m ready for bed. Feel free to hang out here and unpack your stuff from the car. If you need anything; just knock because I’ll be in my room.”

“Sure pet. Sounds like a good plan.” He watched walk to her room and shut her door with a small wave and a smile. The lock clicked and she was now in her own world.

She closed the curtains and stripped off her clothes to slip into her nightgown. The last thing to come off was her bra, it unclasped from the front and the minute it fell off she grazed her hand over her breasts.

Tingles were sent down from her head to her toes. Spikes blood made her feel so alive; like she never felt before.

The feeling snapped out of her when she heard Spike knock. Rushing to grab her nightgown she almost fell over her clothes walking to the door.

She cracked it open. “What is it Spike?”

“Um… I can’t figure out your bloody shower. After tonight, I really need one.” Can vampires blush? Because if they could, Spike would be a bright red.

“Sure. I’ll show you. Just one second.” She grabbed her pajama bottoms and pulled them up her body very quickly.

She opened the door and walked past right into the bathroom. “The tab on the faucet gets a little stuck. Just wiggle it a few times and then pull it really hard. But not too hard I don’t want you to break my shower; the water pressure is amazing hard.”

He just smirked at her and her cheeks began to blush which was her cue to leave.

“I’ll let you get to it. I’m exhausted and going to bed.” She turned around too quickly and hit her head on the door frame. “Oh fuck!”

“Oh bullocks… watch where you’re going you berk.”

“Hey… I’m the one who hit my head here.”

“Here, let me look at it.” He held her face close to himself to see if she had any injuries. His hands were cold but Lily was so warm after feeding that they felt wonderful.
She closed her eyes and sighed in joy of how his hands felt. He started to pet her cheeks with his thumbs to spread the calming coolness.

“You feel okay pet?” He was so close he could taste her luscious lips.

“Never better.” When she finally opened her eyes, he was so close that she could smell how wonderful his scent was. It calmed her.

Lily grabbed his hands and pulled them down; she latched onto him for a hug. “Thank you so much Spike. I couldn’t ask for a better friend right now.”

“Oh thanks… I love being compared to a bloody pet dog.”

“That’s not what I meant.” She couldn’t help but laugh. “Alright, you take a shower and I’m heading to bed. Goodnight Spike, sweet dreams.” She broke the hug and walked away to her room.

“Night pet.”

This was going to be an interesting living situation… and how were they going to do this?

Like a great mind once said, “One step at a time.”
