Sorry I didn't get a chance to really read this and review till today my monkey nephew is on a toddler war path with the flu.

Ok can I just say I love this softer chapter! We get to see more of them trying to work together and interact with one another. You see more of Spike trying to show her how he feels without giving too much away since he's not sure exactly what it is he feels for her yet.

I like how you have Spike as a thinks on his feet kinda guy even Buffy seemed impressed. Given Spike and Angel's history and how the way Dru betrayed him and then he had to witness first hand the complete and utter anguish of what she did to him after being tortured you really get to see why he has completely shut himself off from anyone and why sex is just a act to him much like a good fight or training. But you write it so you slowly see the old William part of himself emerge a tiny bit inside of him in that he really wants a girl like Buffy. She challenges him, she calls him on things, she won't take his crap, as they battle over wills. Of course how he has gone about this with her and figuring himself out has been wrong but that is the best park of this story he learns along the way.
I read this part
“Don’t you see? You still don’t know your way around this world, Buffy. And if you just stopped hating me for a minute, you might find out that it’s not always about sex.”
And I found myself yelling at my computer screen "Yes! Spike what is it about!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!" Answer the girl heedeeleehoo!~

There are a lot of great lines going on in this where I can really see Spike saying these things and Buffy giving him her classic "You idiot" look heeheehee.

Ha! I just knew it he'd end up snuffing her out once the coast was clear. I liked the dream parts worked into this as well. Seems Spikes biggest fear is losing Buffy to Angel the same way he lost Dru. I am enjoying seeing how he keeps this from happening. Even after the dream he did give her some tidbit of what happened in the past instead of hiding it. I also really loved the fact she booted him out of her room and the fact that he took the booting it shows he has more respect for her now in the fact that she'd tell him to do anything and go along with it. Once again you add in little touches or looks in the chapter along the way to give it a realistic like view much like you watching a movie unfold.
I could go on and on how much I love this and love your work and of course go back to making my Spike chocolate sacrifices to you but I must run!

A MUST read for anyone who every liked Spuffy story.

I seem to have noticed a pattern here in this dark tale.
Someone is always in a seductive embrace or butting heads or fighting their passions in these rooms on or by a dresser.
Which leads me to believe that a bedroom dresser is the new hot spot for some wild crazy Spuffy sex. It seems only fitting taking in account that there is always a mirror behind the dresser lol. We got two people who won't face how the other one may be feeling at this point it be wild to see Spike have Buffy see the pleasure he gives her and Buffy face some things and the girl seems to go weak in the knees over a neck kiss lol might be a hot read lol.
LOL I admit it I know I'm Spuff/Kinky fan but these two are being chased by a dresser looking for some lovin.

Author's Response: You're right. It's always in the bedroom next to a dresser! That's why I've created a few chapters with different settings, which haven't all come out yet. And I'm not sure if this pattern gets really old and ruins the story for you, but I'll take note of it ;)

I've fallen behind again, but WOW! What a great couple of chaps. I've said it before, but it's worth repeating. You are one awesome writer - you've really pulled this gang tale off. Great structuring of the rival gangs. Excellent characterizations, Wonderfully semi-spuffy moments (with hot steamy sex too! YUM!) - it's just about the best tale around. It's the one I read first when I check the site for updates of all the tales I'm following. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent and for creating such an in-depth tale for our favorite duo to inhabit! I LOVE THIS TALE AND NEED MORE PLEASE.

Slowly you begin to see kindness and understanding. I love thei conversations in this. There is always so much going on between these two under the serface. I enjoy watching Spike fight himself from reveiling too much of himself and his feelings for her. I really liked the route you took in this chapter it gives me hope for these two crazy kids.

It matters

OMG! I loved this new part it was so much of what Spuffy really was all rolled into one. I think I liked this one the best for it shows their caring and comedy how it was on BtVs you have so caught how they were and at the same time are your own people in this story. I really love your work on this and each update makes me love ths story more.

I do not think all could be lost with Harmony it be a surprise if she was taught to fight better by Buffy for Buffy has sympathy for her where the others don't. She's been used and abused and lashing out at another girl like in a highschool like way. I'd like to see her make a comeback and realize she can be better.
I really liked how you wrote the parts of both Spike and Buffy both kinda hiding their feelings behind their words. Very cool. Thanks for the updates I watched your story here like a hawk always hoping for more.

Amy I could care less about you see one crack monkey you seen um all. So I thinks she gets what she deserves in this. I mean if you sleep with Rack you already smoked your mind away a long time ago.
Really love the Spike and Buffy play and how more and more they learn about each other.

A must read fic if there ever was one.

I think she was impressed with his plotting skills and I think it's cooler still she questions him about her safety.
"The possession in his voice was obvious"
It's interesting to watch her interpretations of his actions. For it's like really his possessiveness is not her being a possession and more of her being the one he wants. Now it shall be fun to see both him and her figure it out along the way. I liked that they argued about if he will be able to still protect her and him explaining his actions. They are both starting to recognize they are becoming more only they don't know what more is, he even goes so far as to comfort her. I liked how were leaving more of Spikes tragic past with Dru no wonder the man has women problems. I so wanted him to say "No Buffy" being wakened from the dream so she's hear it but I can see why you went the route you did.
