I hope you get this review. Today is my birthday.. I was on LJ reading through my friends page again, and read "The Heart ov Gold story" I read you page as well. Every single post and comment. I was having a bad day, and after reading all about you and your family, and your strength, I needed to read your fics. I started with this one, I love Historical fic and because it was your first. I plan on reading all of your fics, and want you to know how they make me feel. I started writing fanfic within the last year and have made great friends, learned more about myself, and grown as a person.
I loved the start with Buffy looking to start anew, lost in an uncomfortable world. Its really good, and look forward to the other chapters at all.

Entertaining story, my one piece of constructive criticism would be to watch the modern language. You've set this up as a period piece, which is fine, but the mood is often ruined with the very modern way of speaking.

I really like your story: the characters are great and the writing is very fluent.
One small thing bothers me though: why do you always say things like 'he was stood'? Isn't 'he was standing' better? English is not my mother tongue, so please correct me if I'm wrong :-)
Please don't think of this as a personal attack, because I'm really curious about the rest of this story.

Well Nikki, I finally caved and decided to start reading this story =D I'm quite glad I did...intriguing so far! So Wesley is Angel's brother, huh? And Maggie's head cook *wince* Excellent choice ;) Nice use of her speech from S4, too!

I wasn't going to do this, but I've changed my mind..Nikki feel free to delete this later...This is an absolutely wonderful story that fits extremely well with its time period, a time period which was chosen very specifically by teh author for its characteristics...so to everyone reading these reviews..this is an awesome story that you should all read.

I finally got around to reading part of your story and I'm glad I did, it's really, really good. Great beginning too. And since I'm under my wonderful pen name here, I'll let you know it's Ciley--and I finally posted some stuff on my LJ, thanks for the encouragement on that :) It's friends locked, though, if you want to read it.

I'm a judge at TOTS awards, I'm beta-ing for a few friends, helping Bitten out with scoring and in between all that tring to get more of this wrote and a few others I have opn the go! Not to mention trying to find a job.... So I'm well aware of what its like to have no time to read things!!!! But like I said I will get round to reading yours aswell...
