Oh poor Nigel! And poor Spike! I love the angsty situations you put Spike and Buffy in. I cannot imagine how he'll react when he finds out Buffy's pregnant. Loved this chapter! =)

Interesting. I'm worried that Drusilla is going to pull something really stupid. I detested Dru, completely and was always afraid to write that too many places. Some BTVS fans just loved her. I found her annoying, I'm afraid. Sigh, anyway, I hope Spike pulls this great escape off. Great story. Luv, Spuf

Author's Response: I enjoyed Dru, and Juliet played her to perfection....but it also gives the character such a range you can use her to fit anything you want her to be. For in so many ways she was still a child nurtured by Angelous and coddled by Spike......then she spread her wings a bit.......

I'm really enjoying these glimpses of Buffy's past, helps me understand why she is the way she is... but I also like that Spike wasn't as much of a prick as I originally thought he was. The nice, slow progression of the story is what's keeping my reading. Can't wait for more.

Author's Response: Thank you.....for as it is Buffy's journey, it's also letting you get to maybe understand a bit of why Spike make the rash choices he made.....he really isn't a bad person.....just a man with his back up against the wall.

You know, it's funny, I've been reading the reviews. (I always try and read the review for the fictions I read) Anyway, I have to agree that sometimes I want Spike to just get his a** kicked from Sunnydale to LA and back. There's such a conflict for me where Spike is concerned, in most stories. He's not always the brightest light when it comes to decisions and plans, but, that's our Spike, right? Anyway, I'm going to continue to read the story (Your last one was difficult for me, but I was so glad I stuck with it) I'm hoping there is a happy ending to this fic, but that's up to you, of course. I love what you're doing with Hank! Spike? Well, I'm not sure if he should get Buffy back, but again, that's up to you. It's too bad, really, but rash decisions do have a way of biting you in the butt later, huh? Luv, Spuf

Author's Response: LOL, funny but did Spike make any really good decsions in cannon as well. The man has a way of rash judgment.....and given time maybe you will see if he made it rashly or if it was the only decision he really could make in his mind.......

OK. I'm confused. While Spike was trying to decide to leave his wife to marry some psycho to keep his child from being abused, didn't he include Buffy in on any of the decision-making? Spike must have met with a lawyer to learn about fighting for custody - didn't he take Buffy with him? Didn't Spike discuss all of the ramifications about not being with Dru and what that would do to Nigel or anything with Buffy? It sounds like he just said to Buffy, "Here's what I've decided, deal with it." If that's true, he did not take his marriage to Buffy seriously and does not deserve to have her back. Probably didn't really love her, then. He was being selfish and not at all a husband. Not sure that would make him a good father either. Probably will not continue reading until you're finished with story and then read the chapters backwards. Probably the only way I can handle the angst without cracking. LOL!

When your back is against the wall you come out fighting with the only way you know how......I hope you come to see Spike is redeemable, and just maybe his only thought was the safty of his son, even at the cost of what he wanted most in the world.....please have faith.....
