This story started out really great, but I think the last few chapters (with the break up) sound contrived. C'mon, is Buffy going to avoid relationships forever because of her parents? In the beginning, she really didn't care about the fighting and whatnot. I mean, they have done that her whole life. So why is it a big deal now and why would she let them "win" and keep her from having her own successful relationship. Eh, not sure where you're going with this.
Author's Response: well...seh's not going to avoid relationships *forever*. But that's the way teenagers think. She *was* really screwed up in the beginning, she just wasn't showing it as much, and now that her parents' fighting is worse than ever and her dad was such a jerk, her feelings regarding relationships have gone downhill. And it may seem stupid, but a lot of people really do have the problem I'm describing, especially teens. They're in charge of our lives, so seeing them screw up can be particularly scary. And because Buffy was LIttle Miss Popular, she never really witnessed a real, healthy relationship (high school upper crusts aren't known for them)...and she's worried hers will end up like the only "real" relationship she's ever seen firsthand: her parents'. I'm sorry if it sounded contrived; that's my fault as an author =/ Thanks for the input.

I liked dark, possessive Spike. I hope Buffy doesn't use his menacing behavior against him. Tara's grandmother's death is going to have the gang rallying in support. That should take some pressure off the Spike and Buffy angstathon.
Author's Response: She won't...cuz I like him too and in this story, she reacts how I want her to =D There'll be a bit of relief, but mostly just sadness...I'm still keeping the focus on B/S, because although Tara's grandmother's death is tragic, Buffy didn't know her all that well, and it was one of those things that everyone knew was coming...not that it doesn't matter! Because I would never kill off anyone's grandmother just for kicks! *is now rambling* Oops...thanks for the review!

I liked it alot and I'm glad you're making the
pain shortish.
Also, I 'love' the fact that Spike is being
so tough and stubborn about Buffy.
Now, this is the Spike I know and love,
not the one JW suddenly created in Season
5 of ATS.
I have a gripe about that, and I'm going to vent it.
No way in the hell would Spike ever have 'not' ran
after Buffy in Rome. I'm sorry, but that was so
out of character for Spike not to track her down and
force her to 'see' him.
That was an Angel trait, to stay away from Buffy for
her own good. And I never bought the old 'Spike's not selfish anymore crap!'
Okay, there, I vented. Anyway, good for you to write Spike
the way he should have been!

Author's Response: well yeah I think it's stupid too, but at the same time I think she definitely has a reason...when you grow up with something as horrible as her parents' marriage was, you can sometimes start thinking it'll happen to you, too, and teenagers are especially susceptible to that, even if it is stupid...but don't worry, they'll get back together soon...thanks for letting me know what you think!
