I believe there is a song that is entitled 'Smack My Bitch Up' by the Wu Tang Gang? I could be wrong. Sigh...okay, Buffy is really on a path to self-destruction now. I have to admit something, when I broke up with my fiance, back when I was about 18, it was for my own selfish motives. Is Buffy making this same mistake? My fiance and I got back together, within like, uhm, a week? But...it was painful and stupid to do in the first place. Sigh, I hope William/Spike does not end up sleeping with a woman (especially Drusilla or Harmony big yuck there) just to hurt Buffy. It's stupid, immature and doesn't do a thing for the future relationship, I assure you. Anyway, long review, sorry. I do believe, totally, the reactions that these two are revealing to each other. I just wish they would listen to each other. spuf

Give me a break. Buffy is obviously forgetting that when he "changed" with Dru he also was still with Buffy. He had the ability to decide he wanted to change and than did so even without Buffy's permission. William is not the idiot that Buffy thinks he is. He can function without her - he just wants to be with her. At this point, if Buffy does move out, I can't see them ever getting together. Buffy won't approach Spike because she has put him in "time out" and Spike won't approach Buffy because he will never know when Buffy has decided that he has had enough time apart from her. She is being a horrible controlling bitch and trying to pretend it's for his own good. Buffy needs to grow up fast.

Author's Response: When William 'changed', he and Buffy had been on the outs which was why she felt he was doing all the changing without her. She knows he can function without her, that's why she's letting him go the way she has so that HE can see that he can. All he did was for her and b/c of her. She wants him to do it for him, not for her. In some bizarre way, she's actually trying not to be selfish.

Buffy is pissing me off to no end. She making all the decisions- just like everyone always did for her on the series. Just what does she want to make her happy- for Spike to say, 'gee you're right- I was just grateful and now I'm with someone else???'

Author's Response: She doesn't want to hold him back from his path of self discovery. She was trying to control him much more before when she got bent out of shape when he started changing. She kept asking why he couldn't change with her by his side b/c they did all the major things together. She's since realized that he's right about doing it without her help, but he still claims to have done it for her and b/c of her. Buffy doesn't want it that way. SHe wants it to be for him, not for her. I know it sounds weird, but she is trying not to be selfish. She really feels that she is doing right for him.

i understand why she thought it would be a good idea but in my opinon i think she should've just kept her mouth shut because she was so happy with him

wahhhhhhh howww could u do thiss??? blehh..i understand, i do, i'm just giving you a hard time...it would have been just too easy if they were to live happily ever after already. i hope buffy and william come to their realizations and self discovery soon!! wonderfully written chapter...can't wait for more!

I understand this, because I went trhough this once.. But my boyfriend was the one with experience and I wasn´t.. I see why she is acting like this... it´s very complicated... I just hope this story ends better than mine.. because we didn´t get back together.

What is Spike going to have to do to "prove" he's trying new things? Sleep with Drusilla? Go on a heart broken bender? Buffy's reasons for breaking up with Spike were well thought out, but how can she know his heart better than he does? I hope she regrets this decision soon and in a big way. Extremely well written dialogue in this chapter. Spike's desperation and incredulity came through especially loud and clear.

Apparently, our Buffy has never heard the term 'self-fulfilling prophecy?' Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. Sadly, this chapter was very realistic and heartbreaking, but... in the end, it wake Buffy up. I hope so. spuf

Oh no - a sad chappir, lol! As much as I understand completly why Buffy's doing what she's doing, I can't help hoping everything will work itself out soon!!! Can't wait for more as soon as you're able to update. Take care, C ; )
