Very interesting chapter!!! I love how you've crossed over Highlander with these and made it believable...was wondering who Buffy was talking to there, so I was surprised to see it was Whistler...don't know...was expecting someone else....my bad. Anyway, great chapter, and I can't wait for her to wake up!!!

I missed a few chapters back apparently, so I went and read them, the Duncan Mcleaod(sp?) stood out to me then, but I thought it was just put in for fun. Now with this chapter I see it was not. I think it would be a lot easier to understand if you put in the summary that it is a crossover fic with highlander. I know if I had not seen the tv show or movies I would be totally confused. Now that Buffy knows she is immortal is Duncan going to help her train?

Author's Response: I deliberately wanted to wait on revealing the Highlander aspect because I was afraid everyone would instantly figure I was going to have Buffy be immortal. I did post a disclaimer for Highlander on chapter 4 because I was using Duncan and it was also a tiny hint about what was to come. Buffy's collapse and battle would have seemed less powerful if everyone knew she'd either a) Wake up as an immortal or B) Spike possibly even Angel in their desperation could turn her at the last possible second. Plus since Buffy didn't know about immortals, I wanted to revel it to her at the same time I sprung it on you guys! Put you all in the same boat so to speak :) As for Duncan, Buffy doesn't know he's an immortal yet and he doesn't know she is either.Their relationship as well as the one Duncan will have with Joyce will be secondary plots, twisted around Buffy's relationship with Spike. As for the Highlander cross, I'll be sure that even non-watchers can understand the story. It's like Angel the series, you could watch that show never knowing it was a BTVS spinoff because it wasn't dependant on the parent show Or atleast that's what I'm hoping for :) Thanks for the review ;)
