Lorne's words of wisdom aren't going to make Spike any happier about Buffy taking other lovers, but I hope it put her actions in perspective. He and Buffy know each other intimately, but they use their knowledge to cut each other to the quick. This is moving quickly and is engrossing.

Bet Spike gets the air knocked right out of him.. BTW..I loved Lorne giving Spike his take on the Buffy situation. I only hope that Spike listens to him, and takes a hard long look at the situation.

Whoa! That last statement was harsh! She really cuts to the quick when she wants to.
These two are so frustrating. He didn't even bother to find out, when she came back, if any guy had actually meant anything at all, to the point that she even tried to get physical.
Lorne's right, Kate's right, and even Fred knows it, or she wouldn't have said to Spike what she did when he got stuck here.

Ouch... there's a lot of pent up, unresolved, issues there, isn't there? And, not too deep under the surface, I'd say. Seems as if everyone in the appartment, save for Cassie, recognises what these two desperately keep fighting against. It's even harder when one of them is tangled up in a relationship with a really nice person. So why is it, that even though I know Fred is a really, really nice person... I really want to scratch her eyes out dislike her?

*shudders at thought of another woman inside Spike's pants*
I'm starting a book (in the gambling not literary sense). Current odds for how long Spike & Buffy can last before getting down, dirty and very noisy: 500/1 - over a week, 50/1 - 5 days, 20/1 - 3 days, 3/1 - in the next 24 hours

Well, Fred was right, Spike's lost to her. As soon as he grabbed Buffy in the last chapter, the chemistry reignited. The mystery of the John Doe is an excellent plot device to bring the two of them back together.

I think that because you've used Cassie as the wounded puppy needing help, I'm all on edge waiting for her to become another police statistic... I do hope she doesn't this time round.
Love the scene in the kitchen, when Buffy's having her panic attack and the gang all comfort her. Kate and Lorne sound just the sort of friends I'd love to have around me! And Spike, totally lost, isn't he poor sod? Whatever misunderstanding there has been between them will be resolved, I'm sure. Even Fred knows...

First of all..I want you to know that I am a huge fan of "There Ain't No Sunshine" ..I have read ALOT of fics..but that one always sticks out in my head..
When I found this story tonight I was soo excited..and have read strait through to get caught up. Of course I was really sad and disappointed that Spike and Buffy were not together. : ( Plus Spike being with Fred was hard for me..* I just don't like Fred..don't know why*...All that aside, you have another hit on your hands for sure. I will definately be looking for any updates to this bad boy : D
