Author's Response: Yes he can. I always wished we could have gotten more interaction between Spike and Tara on the show. Thanks!

Grrr...arrrgh. Okay somebody hold me back or I'ma gonna get myself a piece of that 'slap-Giles-upside-the-head-right-now' cake and start looking around for seconds! LOL. Loving the Tara - Spike interaction btw.

Author's Response: Giles can be such a watcher sometimes! I'm glad you're liking Tara, because she's going to be around a lot. Thanks for commenting!

The fight was well choreographed and vivid, and you did an excellent job describing Spike's injuries. Giles' unthinking claim about Spike's inability to link with Meret was an excellent device to distance Spike from the Scoobies. I'm looking forward to the evolution of Spike's relationship with the group, and learning what nefarious plot the mage is up to.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'll try not to disappoint!

This story just gets better and better. You have amazing descriptive talents. I was going to give some examples, but I realized I wanted to quote almost the entire chapter. It's really beautifully written.

Author's Response: Thank you!

As usual, another great update. To keep telling you how much I love this story is getting redundant, I know. Your pacing is impeccable. Keep doing what your doing. Love Tara in this story. She had the most insight of anybody in the show. except for Spike. Jean

Author's Response: I can appreciate redundancy. :-D I'm gad you're liking Tara, seeing as how she's going to be in this fic a lot. Thanks for reviewing!

Yay! An extra treat chapter.

*sigh* Giles can be a real ass.

Very glad Tara is bonding with them, though. The whole group respects her, so her views will carry weight when the time comes.

Author's Response: Giles is just being a watcher, which can in fact translate to "ass" sometimes. I'm working on him. ;-) Thanks for reviewing!

How sad and devastating for Spike to learn the extent of Giles' bigotry. In contrast, yay for Tara's sensitivity. Love the story.

Oh man! Poor Spike. Great chapter; looking forward to the next.

Author's Response: I always hated seeing Spike get knocked around physically and emotionally on the show, and here I am writing about it. I'm such a hypocrite. Thanks for reviewing!

I just found your fic and read to here in one sitting. It is awesome; it is hard to believe that this is your first fic. Both your dialogue and the subtle way you portray the character's emotions are amazing. BTW, you really don't need a Beta. I noticed very few mistakes, unless you are just looking for someone to bounce ideas off of. Great job so far. Can't wait to read the rest of it.

Author's Response: Thank you! My beta is going to be able to start proofreading again soon, and mostly I'm just asking her to make sure that I don't have any glaring plot holes and typos. I'm glad you're liking my writing style. My only writing background is in scientific journals and they aren't the most amusing things to read.

Oh, poor Spike, I feel so bad for him. You had me in tears at the end of the chapter. Really well written, I could feel the depth of the emotions he must have been feeling. Can't wait for more.

Author's Response: Um, sorry? :-) I'm glad you're enjoying this so much. Thanks!

Snowed in? The rest of our snow thawed today. ~ So Giles didn't believe Spike at first.. yeah. Typical Watcher / Vamp thing or more a Giles thing? ~ Good that Tara did care for Spike's wounds - the little magic did sure help - this the extra 'icepack' for sure. *gg* because of what Spike did to Riley's pants :) Well - Giles IS a typical Watcher.. Vamps have no feelings, uh-huh. What an idiot.

Loved to read the new update :)

Author's Response: Even though is a bit of a rebel, Giles is still a product of the Watcher's Council. Oh well. Thanks for reviewing! (Oh, and it's still snowing!)

Giles could be such an ass at times. He needed to come face to face with his illusions and prejudices, nearly as much as Xander did.

Author's Response: I always hate it when someone knows that their beliefs are true. I don't play well with blindly unquestioning individuals. That is why Giles irks me, even though I think he means well. Thanks for leaving a comment!

This story is great.I like the way that Spike is connecting with the fringe scoobies. And perhaps Spike and Tara might become close.Or Meret lays eggs and both Tara and Dawn have a baby coatl each ?.Update soon please.

Author's Response: Tsk. Asking me questions that I simply refuse to answer. :-D I'm glad you're liking this fic. Thanks for reviewing!

Brilliant chapter loved it. Giles' is just pathetic. He prides himself on his intellect but like all true bigots he only sees what fits into his world view. Pretty much par for the course when dealing with him throughout season 6 & 7. He never gave Spike any credit for saving their arses when Buffy died. In truth Spikes to soft for his own good,

Author's Response: I think that pretty much everyone in season 6 deserved to be smacked for being selfish and short-sighted. (And yes, I never understood why Spike was so willing to lie down and let people kick him.) Thanks for reviewing!

After ripping a gaping hole in the seat of the camouflaged pants and “accidentally” dropping them into the toilet, Spike decided he felt up to facing the watcher again.

*LOL* Spike sure knows how to get a message across! I think camouflaged pants should actually read camouflage pants, or is that my Britishism?

Interesting chapter, this one. Although you've injected some really clever humour the undercurrent of threat and mistrust is palpable and I found myself uncomfortable laughing at the quippage when Spike was clearly in pain and there was so much mistrust and disbelief on Giles part. You made me conflicted, as you Yanks say.

Interesting that Giles calld the leader of the demons a warlock and Spike refers to him as a Mage. Is there any significance/difference?

Great update, pet! Thanks again.

Author's Response: Oops! No, that was a real, live typo. Thanks for pointing it out! As for my mystery villian, I'm using the words warlock, mage, and magic-user interchangeably. I'm actually rather pleased that Spike's quips made you uncomfortable. I saw his sarcasm on the show as a defense mechanism, a way to hide vulnerability, so I tried to use that humor the same way. Thanks for reviewing!
