OMG, I'd just realised this. As a 101% Spuffy fan, I really can't believe this.

THERE'S NO SPUFFY INTERACTION SO FAR!

Omg, see how good you are? I'm totally hooked onto your fic even tho there's not a single bit of Spuffyness so far. I bet the others didn't notice too!

Author's Response: Heh, yeah. This is pretty Spike-centric for the first chunk of the story. I'm happy you're reading it anyway. Thanks!

Wow, I guess you really like Tara. I guess most people like her, I kinda do, too, but my impression was smashed when I saw her reaction in "Intervention".

I know Tara did show support to Buffy when Buffy confessed to her about the "relationship" with Spike, but the moment she said, "What, are you kidding? She's nuts!" the warm feelings I had for Tara's character kinda faded away as it told me that Tara isn't that much different from the rest of the Scoobies.

It's just my 2 pences, anyway.

Nonetheless, as I mentioned in the review I left for your other story, I'm loving it so far, and you're extremely talented. Some experienced writers wouldn't even be able to write well as you do, and you've only done 2! It's marvelous!

Thank you for sharing your fics. I hope to read more in the near future :)

Author's Response: I thought Tara was one of the most sympathetic characters on the show, even with the Intervention scene. I was really wanting to start working Spike into the Scoobies before any kind of real Spuffy relationship formed, because that whole idea of acceptance was my goal above and beyond the romance facet. After Dawn, Tara seemed like the next logical step. I'm glad you're liking the story. Thanks for the review!

Yep...loving the Spike - Tara interaction though you ought to be careful in case I start begging you to write a Spara story LOL.

Author's Response: Hee hee! That is a relationship that would make me twitch to write as anything but platonic. Sorry. :-D Thanks!

Oh - I'm soo glad I wasn't wrong - two chapters to read :) The friendship between Tara and Spike is nice. It seems as if Meret has her fully accepted her because Tara can hear her *on to the next chapter*

Author's Response: Surprise! As for Meret's connection with Tara, she's contacting people she recognizes as Spike's "family." Thanks for reviewing!

Another excellent chapter that fits well with canon. Tara was always a sympathetic character, and her link with Meret is allowing her to empathize with Spike. The entire crypt scene was well described and in character. The idea of these characters watching a show about the occult made me laugh. I'm looking forward to how this relationship is going to alter the Season 6 storyline.

Author's Response: I must admit that tweaking canon has been a lot of fun. However, after the next couple of chapters, the story really diverges from what we saw on the show. (What, no Trio?!) I'm glad you're liking the fic. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Like it when someone is nice to Spike. Waiting to see where the story goes. Hopefully Giles will have to eat crow soon.

Author's Response: I'll have to say that's a definite maybe ;-) Thanks for commenting!

I love this chapter. The Spike & Tara friendship is very fitting. I actually think it was an opportunity lost in the show. Tara was mature beyond her years and a great empath. As a Redemptionista, I think she would have seen Spike's gradual transformation for what it should have been, a being once controlled by evil fighting to regain the light - *oops... went and dragged my old soapbox into your review, sorry*

A great progression chapter too, with the reveal of Meret's link to Tara and the introduction of canon issues that will, I assume, become integral to the ongoing tale. Well written, pet!

*wanders off to do some housework whistling a merry tune*

Author's Response: Not to worry, soapboxes are welcome! (And for the record, I thought it was a lost opportunity too.) I'm glad you're liking the story, even in the transitional parts like this chapter. Thanks for reviewing!

Always thought those two could be good friends if they had the time. I like writing them that way, too.

Author's Response: Spike and Tara would have worked for the same reason that Spike and Dawn worked. None of them were ever really "in" with the core Scoobies. I'm glad you're liking the story. Thanks for reviewing!

Great chapter, love the friendship betwen Spike and Tara. Always liked Tara on the show and thought she and Spike should have a deeper friendship.

Author's Response: I wish we could have seen more of Spike interacting with the other Scoobies on the show. Oh well. Thanks for reviewing!

Awwe!

Loved the comfortable, relaxed friendship that Spike and Tara are developing here. It was something that both of them sorely needed in season 6, and I'm wondering how it will change how things work out in your 'verse. I'm guessing it will work out to be a positive change!

Love the mental image of Spike, Tara and Meret watching unsolved mysteries (or whatever) and eating popcorn. Though salty popcorn on poor Spike's burns sounds painful!

Author's Response: I really wanted to start working Spike in with the other Scoobies, instead of just Buffy, in this story. I'm glad you're liking how I'm changing the character dynamics. Thanks for reviewing!

This was such a sweet chapter. I'm so happy to see how the tentative friendship between Spike and Tara has evolved to a real friendship. Can't wait for more!

Author's Response: Spike really needed a few characters in his corner, especially in seasons 5 and 6. Thanks for reviewing!
