Oh wow this is just, like...wow. Sorry to be so inarticulate but I'm just loving this chapter. Oh and the ending screams out for classic scary movie music LOL. My mum could do that btw, smell death or catastrophe. The only talent I seem to have is the ability to find the one item in a store that doesn't have a working barcode, heh. Still lovin it!

Author's Response: Now there is one skill that I do not envy. Thanks for reviewing!

Finally Buffy makes an appearance... and then everyone loses their memory ;) I hope she is here to stay after this.

Author's Response: I can promise more Buffy from here on out. (But then again, more than virtually nothing might not be that much, huh?) ;-) Thanks for reviewing!

Another excellent take on canon, and having Joan christen "BillY made me smile. I loved the description of Spike's agitated walk to The Magic Box, with his new friend Tara being forced to trot alongside. Xander and Anya's ham handed comments were in character and rather cruel. You did an excellent job isolating Spike from most of the group after showing his closeness to Tara and Dawn. The mindswipe has potential to bring Spike into the fold in your universe. I'm looking forward to your take on this.

I'm looking forward to thespells affects
Is Spike

Author's Response: I'm glad you're liking the story so much! And yes, you're right on with the guess that I am using Willow's spell as a big ol' plot device. Thanks for reviewing!

I can't tell you how much I'm loving this story. I keep repeating it over and over again. I guess you should know... over and over again. Please write more. Please? With chocloate covered Spikes on top?

Author's Response: Whoa! Pulling out the big guns? How can I refuse an offer of multiple chocolate covered Spikes. ;-) Of course I will be writing more! Thanks for reviewing!

Oooh! Tabula Rasa in the Meret-verse! Very interesting take on things. Not the broad comedy of Tabula Rasa (though I loved Randy!) but very affecting. Billy's rising terror at this lack of reflection is very believable.

"All brittle dignity and bristling defensiveness, he stood before them, arms crossed, and waited for their reaction."

That is *so* Spike! Perfect description.

Author's Response: Whoa! Meret rates a "-verse?" Now I'm tickled... ;-) I'm glad you're liking my take on Spike. Thanks for the review!

WhooHoo... me like, me like!

Me like Billy - much better effort than Randy, for a start, and his lack of reflection was a cool way to have them gathering around him, poking and prodding maybe, but no snarkage.

Me like that Anya didn't automatically shun Alex as a potential fiance and jump on Giles just 'cause they are joint owners of the Magic Box. You didn't do the sexual innuendo with Willow and Tara either, interesting. You also didn't share Buffy's thoughts, even more interesting *adopts poor Austrian scientist accent and mumbles, "Verrrry interestink!"*

Buffy and Dawn's sisterly recognition was so logical and natural that I'm glad you kept that.

Now, where have you put dear Meret? Oohhh... and, now they all are getting Merety vibes!? Oh, Oh, and... Billy had something pointy in his pocket!

*Chrissie wanders off to dream of pointy things in Billys pocket*

You're a lovely storyteller, pet.

Author's Response: It probably doesn't help matters that I tend to listen to Billy Idol's greatest hits while writing, does it? ;-) I'm sticking to Spike's POV, so the other character's interactions and emotions are going to be filtered through a Spike-shaped sieve. (I wonder if they sell those...) Thanks for reviewing!

*gasp indeed - Buffy is in this chapter?* ;-) well - you mentioned it *gg* Should I say typical? Anya's first thought is about the money and Xander manage it go get his foot in his mouth.. kind of. He's speaking without thinking. Ah - Tabula Rasa... where's Meret? And what does Spike mean when he says he smells death? Looking forward to find out!

Author's Response: Definitely more Spuffy (or is it Boan now, or Jilly...) interaction in the next chapter. I hope that doesn't make anyone faint. ;-) Thanks for reviewing!
