Oh, poor Will! I want him to find a really good woman that will treasure him like he should be. Even if Buffy wanted him again, how could he ever trust her now? Thee are better things out there for him if he can manage to move on now.

ROTFLMAO, at myself......bad me not remembering correctly the how and when she told Lindsey she was married.....bad me.....but then if makes me think Lindsey even more of a love blind calf who needs to find a new life.......and as for vows.....even if I'm not and never have been married still think vows of marriage a serious thing.....and feel that Buffy has betrayed herself, Wiliam, her vows, and Lindsey buy shirking them. The vows are more then just a piece of paper, or just words but your word and promise. If you want to live the singe life, then do it, don't use the marrige to hide......or hold on to something. Both Buffy and William are guilty of trying to hold on to something that no longer existed except on paper. But I think for different reasons. And I will believe Wiliam innocent until he s proven not to be in keeping his vows...because I truly do try and believe in people until it is proven they are guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.......if the roles were reversed, I'd be on Buffy's side......but they are not. But again, I think it was a great chapter.....now let's see what our estranged couple do..........and as always, it's been a pleasure, : )

Hey, Kimber. You know, I'm confused by your last post. It's not meshing up with what I'm reading. I reread chapter 3 (when we first read about Buffy and Lindsey). I don't see where she ever concealed that she was married from Lindsey. She didn't tell him when they met because it was none of his business and she kept refusing his advances even after he had been working as her manager for a year. So Lindsey knew of her marriage from early on in the dating part of their relationship.

Tally his dally...heh. See, you are coming at it from the opposite way I am. You're kinda all, "he's innocent until prove guilty." While I'm not looking to say guilty until proven innocent, I am saying don't throw stones at Buffy for being human. It's not like she's cheating on William while they were REALLY together. (I know that sounds bad, but hear me out). They walked away from each other. They weren't living together (or even in the same country) and for all she knew, Spike no longer loved her. The last thing he did say before he left was that he no longer cared. It doesn't get much clearer than that.

As for no respect for Buffy, I really think this isn't one of those black and white "OMG I can't believe she's cheating on her husband, what a bitch" situations. This is a very atypical affair. Also one has to look at his or her definition of marraige. If it is simply a piece of paper, yeah, sure...she's a total bitch and life's black and white. However, if marriage is something more, something spiritual (to those who are spiritually inclined) or a striving for love and selflessnss, then I think their marriage dissolved years ago. I'm not one to look at things in the black an white. Grey is more my shade, and I always try (and I emphasize try because I am only human) to save the role of judge for those who have no fault. There is no telling what a man or woman would do when faced with just the right set of circumstances. They may do something they never thought they would possibly do. Like have an affair, leave their spouse, have an abortion, or even in the extreme, kill. And each person would react differently to any given set of circumstances. This is why I side with Buffy (and Will, too for that matter. I'm just teetering over onto Buffy's side because she seems to be the one in most need of supporters. Poor Buffy. So few fanfic readers are liking her here.)

I myself am in a relationship of 10 years and will (probably) never marry. The vows mean nothing to me. They are only words. It is the actions that matter to me. The love, the respect. My man's with me. We both had aspirations that we both had to sacrifice some of in order to raise our daughter. He didn't just expect me not to pursue my dreams. He had to give up a part of his so I could achieve a part of mine. I guess this story is a bit personal and that's why I'm so passionate about Buffy's plight. Now, if only the author doesn't make me eat crow later. :)

And I totally agree with you, Kimber. Posting here is FUN! I love getting responses to my posts (as long as I haven't gone too far and pissed anyone off...that usually isn't my intention. ;) I only hope that this type of "review" doesn't annoy the authors. I can't imagine why that would, though. To have written something that sparks so much passion and debate is very flattering, IMO. Great job hitting home with this one, beasleysmom!

Raspy....we all have the right to our opinions....it's what makes posting here fun actually.......as for Buffy she had a man she had been living with 3 years to marry her 2 years ago.....until then she'd never even told Lindsey she was married.....and has remained married for 2 years....I have no respect for a woman that would think of her vows with such disrespect.....she should have divorced him once she started a serious fling with Lindsey before he asked her to marry him.......and I got the impression from the last chapter William had honored his vows.....that he'd not had anyone since Buffy........so unless the author gives me more specifics.....he didn't tally his dally. As for lawyer.....she's not said he's a divorce lawyer......in a firm not all of them practice the same type of law....it could be he's going back home and have one of the others that works the divorce end of things, while he could very well be contracts/business, fill out the papers and serve her with them... Would not be ethicial or moral for him to handle his own case.......he could easily set himself up to do something that could be him disbarred.......That's why ever the best divorce attorney's still hire their own......LOL. We do still have the legit press and entertainment media not to make a big thing of this....where they are all going the wrong way in protecting Kennedy......she's going to be hurt all around......

Oh, Spike thinks that Buffy has replaced him when we know that is not the case at all. Was she supposed to wait for Will to contact her after 8 years? No, I suppose she should have filed for divorce instead. But why when that obviously isn't what she or Spike wanted? Anyway, enough harping on that. The fact of this chapter is that Spike is in pain and that does upset me. His emotions are just as valid as Buffy's are. I hope that resolution can happen soon (but that would mean the end of the story, right? So don't resolve too soon .) I really hope that everyone stays out of it. Giles has respected Spike (or been cut off by Spike) enough to not really become involved. He is just supporting. Unless Buffy does something REALLY horrible and hateful (which I don't feel her character is either horrible or hateful), I'm hoping Joyce keeps her nose to herself.

If I were in Buffy's position at this point, I'd like to think I'd take responsibility for using Lindsey and break the relationship off. I'm not sure if I would just sign the papers for William or confront him before hand and ask him if that is what he really wants If he says yes (even out of hurt)...oh, who am I kidding. I'd be STUBBORN AS HELL and keep pestering him until he REALLY convinced me he wanted the divorce. :) At any rate, much healing needs to be done for both. Forgiveness is the key here, and they both need it from themselves and each other. This isn't a one sided issue. Two, two people are involved, ha, ha, ha, haaaa!

Oh yeah..I am enjoying this fic so much..Really thought provoking. You should be proud beasleysmom ; )

What a sweet first time for Buffy with William..Very well written. Everytime I read a flash back I feel so sad for the sorry state of affairs that is the present. They are BOTH in so much pain. I hope that you have Buffy and William REALLY talking sometime soon.

Great update..looking forward to more as always : D

Good chapter. Being that she was the one having a affair for 5 years and caused most this mess. I believe she should be the one to try to make things right. He was still faithful even after all this time. Keep up the good work tho

Another great chapter.......I hope Joyce and Buffy talk, but something tells me its going to be something Buffy's not ready to face yet.........or will she finally listen to words of wisdom her mother might have for her. Even if all Joyce does is listen, maybe Buffy might come to figure out what is more important right now for her......and what SHE really wants right now.........for it would seem that Will is not really giving her a divorce for himself, but thinking this is what she would want. Who will bend.......

Uhm, that was 'sweet'? No it was hot, really.

I think Spike and Buffy better get together and really talk because they do love each other, still.
