So, we have our William on the edge of the crisis. No doubt the way to Campos Real and Buffy will seem very long to him. Make sure that our friend will be soon reassured;)...

But I feel the 2 lovers William and Buffy will meet a difficult time. Some things will have to be told, some difficult truths revealed. After 3 months of separation, another test to be faced. But I have like an idea that William and Buffy are strong enough to succeed ;).

Little Aimée... Bad time goes on for her. I remember a proverb: "If Gods want to punish you, they fulfill your dearest wish", something like that.

She is so sure to have had the perfect revenge on Buffy, thinking: "she had everything her sister ever wanted and she wasn’t about to give that up, no matter what she had to do". How ironic that it's absolutely not the case. The day she will understand that, that she married Angel, and refused William, all that for nothing, I have to say it, I will feel some sadness for her...

I can understand Aimée's bitterness, feeling herself always second after Elizabeth. But I wonder if it was the reality, was she really " the spare, disposable daughter, the one whose existence didn’t matter" in the past? A confrontation between Aimée and Joyce would be interesting...

Even though i'm kind of angry at Angel for his matchmaking, I actually feel sorry for the poor guy. Sure he's no Spike but he's hardly repulsive, it's a shame he's entering into a loveless marriage and doesn't even know it. It's awful of me, but i'm really enjoying the side effects of Tegua's treatments. *bites nails* I can't wait for everything to hit the fan when Spike gets to Campo Real. Fantastic update!

Man..You know I am SO NOT wanting anything between Riley and Buffy..but I can't believe how jealous Aimee' is! I mean I do believe it by now..but it's hard to accept that she doesn't hold ANY love for her own sister. What would it be to her if Buffy had a decent suitor? I cannot wait til' Aimee is faced with the fact that William is in love with Buffy! It is going to drive her insane : D

Author's Response: Oh, Aimée would be jealous of anyone that she considers a threat. She simply doesn't want anyone but her to shine or be happy. And there's no one she considers more of a threat than Buffy, so you can imagine what she might do to stop her from being happy with William once she finds out who he is and that he's preferred her sister over her.

Aimée having second thoughts, Riley wanting to marry Buffy, Buffy and María not being able to get a hold of Giles? This can't be good.
At least Aimée's selfishness at not wanting her sister to have any happiness might work in Spike and Buffy's favor to have Angel not speak of Riley's intentions towards Elizabeth until after Spike comes back.
Can't wait for his return. Great update, can't wait for the next.

Oh, Lord. Don't tell me Angel is going to try to get Buffy and Riley together, as he is giving a dowry to Buffy and offered to help her find someone. Please let Spike get his butt home. I just wonder what Teguas's last treatment will do to Aimee. Looking forward to that one. I guess all hell will break loose when everyone gets to the ranch. And you'll find out about what the treatment will do to Aimée on chapter 31. ;) As you guessed, yes, all hell will break loose now that we've moved the action to Campo Real. ... And I can tell you Buffy's reaction to finding out how far Aimée and William's relationship went, will be better than William finding out that Buffy was in love with Angel, even if nothing happened between them. but as you say, María is still there, and she will help Buffy out. So, look who is he coming! Riley... A man who has monetary problems and who is Angel's friend.

Hum... Angel who says Joyce and Aimée that he could find a suitable husband for Buffy. A Buffy he gaves a generous dowry.

So, we have a man who needs money and who likes (very much) beautiful women, and a beautiful woman who has a generous dowry. In middle of that, Angel. A man who is already on the way to make happily the most beautiful mistake of his life, marrying little Aimée. And, when we see his wisdom concerning love affairs... He could think he would make a good action marrying Riley and Buffy. God, he would be ever able to think he is himself very clever to have had such idea :(! Can't help myself ;)!...

And Spike, thanks to Xander, has a lot of things to think about.

Yes, Buffy could be hurt to know that he went so far with Aimée, but she has already shown wisdom when she had learnt about their "affair". And maybe has she already some doubts...

Little Aimée. No doubt our pirate will be surprised to learn that his former (and very short-time) lover will be... err... his future stepsister, and twice! Officially, by Buffy (Aimée's sister and his future wife), and unofficially, by Angel ("unknown" Spike's brother and Aimée's future husband).

But to think Aimée will keep quiet herself, having a marriage on the way, would be a mistake. As said Willliam Congreve: "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned".

Oh my gosh! I just reread Spike's confession about his affair with Aimée and I hadn't noticed that he said he "thought" about marrying Aimée and not that he "was" engaged to her... Buffy's reaction should be interesting.
I continue to love the Aimée/Tegua scenes. I can't wait to find out what the mysterious "little something" is that has Tegua smiling.
I liked Cordy and Angel's first meeting. And Riley and Darla... that's an interesting combination. Wonderful chapter!
