I just love this story, have I said that yet? It's a lot of fun, and it's really addicting. Looking forward to more. =)

Author's Response: I'm glad you think so! Thanks!

Ooh, very interesting choices indeed. I love the pacing in this story. I love how things seem to be progressing between Buffy and Spike and the rest of the Scoobies and Giles. Very nice. Can't wait to find out what their choices in weapons will be. :D

Author's Response: I stuck Spike through enough craziness in the last story that I felt that he earned a few chapters' reprieve as far as his interactions with Buffy and the Scoobies go. ;-) I'm glad you're liking it. Thanks for reviewing!

Such nice interactions amongst them all... I like how Giles is subtly warming to Spike thanks to Meret, and how fighting Spike is helping Buffy get her groove back.

The week after, he started offering Spike advice during the fight, which was so unexpected that the vampire dropped his guard to gawk at the watcher, which earned him a foot in the gut for his troubles.

Hee!

Author's Response: I'm glad you like it. One way or the other, I always thought Buffy reacted strongly to fighting, so using it as slayer-therapy made sense to me. thanks for reviewing!

Wednesdays? Ah! Sparring sessions on Wednesday :) And Spike nose will live ;-) Even Giles can learn: he cleared the floor before the fight. Interesting choice of classes Buffy had. :) Loved the chapter, the guessing about the weapons was silly but fun. *gg*

Author's Response: Because as long as Spike's nose lives, everything else will be okay. ;-) Thanks for the review!

I laughed at Spike's "And the slayer has kindly taken to layin' off my nose." I thoroughly enjoyed this light and entertaining chapter. The exuberance of the sparring match set the tone, and you kept it up throughout the chapter. Buffy's positive attitude and light spirits were a joy to read. Again, the small details really flesh this story out.

Author's Response: I figured I owed the characters a few happy chapters after the last story and before I start messing with them again. Thanks for leaving a review!

I've decided to have a Meret tee-shirt. I've found lots of coatl images on Google, but I want it to be as authentic as possible, Wyvie. So, do you already have an image that you used as inspiration for Meret, and what coulour(s) is she?

*Chrissie interrupts her self-centred tee-shirt making discussion to offer up a wee bit o' feedback on the fanfiction Wyvern's worked so bloomi' hard to create!*

I think you're really capturing Spike's character here, and his interactions with Anya and Giles are spot on. Spike's a lot more sparky in this chapter, not so thoughtful and much more spontaneous.

Buffy's a lot harder to button down so far. She's being too nice. So nice, I'm waiting for the hormones to wash over her. Hopefully Wyvie Buffy is subtly different from canonBuffy, intentionally. I say 'hopefully' because canonBuffy did kind of grate on my nerves at times and this Buffy's far more 'human'.

Went all warm and fuzzy when you described Meret as, ...the most untraditional and unobtrusive babysitter the teenager had ever had .... Made me realise, she's growed up somewhat since ILWS, hasn't she? Now I'm going to be seeing her in a more phoenix-like vision... something of beauty and intelligence to rival Buffy *veg*... Wonder if that's why Buffy's gor a book on Mesoamerican Mythology in her bag?

Delighted that ILWS, and you, has received the fandom recognition it deserves! Congratulations, pet. And the great work continues right here!

Author's Response: Um, take a blood corn snake, the darker the better, and give it a northern cardinel's wings and a crest of feathers down it's spine. Red eyes, black tongue. I guess the closest thing I could find online to my mental image would be this: http://www.wildlife-fantasy.com/artwork/quetz.php Now you have to promise to show me the design! As for the rest, would I throw a monkey wrench into the works as far as a hormonal Buffy and a conspiring coatl goes? ;-) That would be mean... I'm glad you're liking it. Thanks for reviewing!
