Odd that a harsh looking man has more tenderness in his pinky than the townfolk. Buffy not used to tenderness must feel at a disadvantage as to why this man is being kind to her. I'm sure she must be riddled with insecurities on his intentions. Whether they may be sinister against her or her unborn child. All number of scenarios could spring into her hormonal mind about babies being taken away from mothers for unsavory purposes. With any luck, Spike will dispell her fears and give her assurances that he means her no harm.
I love this story, it really tugs at my heart. The way it depicts unexpected kindness from outcasts and tough men shows that compassion can be found from unexpected places. Great reading!

Yes, I've always found that people who are outcasts can be surprisingly caring and good people, so it's a theme I like to use in my stories.
Spike would dust himself before he let a thing happen to Buffy or her baby, but she doesn't know that... yet.
And God help anyone who messes with her. She has a protector now.

I really love the dynamic of Xander and Oz together. Buffy is hurt and I'm hoping that Spike is her savior and that her baby is going to be alright. Bite's fingernails, oh the wait! More soon please.

Oh my.. Buffy is on her way to Xander and Xander with Oz is trying to get back to the cave (Buffy). But now Buffy is hurt ~ will she loose her baby? Seems as Buffy has met Spike now, he saved her. But what about the baby? So yeah: Another cliffhanger ;-) ~ Looking forward to the next part!

Uh-huh.. seems as if Spike got himself in trouble; he is a prisoner now. And this Buffy is pregnant? *wonders who the father of the child is* And she lives in a cave. A friend of mine still has this morning sickness too. And she is due in June. ~ Must say Xander is very brave, taking over Buffy's duties. I see: Buffy doesn't know who the father is too. So that's part of the Mars-Verse. ~ Wow.. Spike had contact with Buffy (Buffy's rock)? *on to the next chapter*
Author's Response: Spike was in trouble, yes. He never managed to leave the caves after getting his soul. Yep, you are dead on the money with the Mars-verse. Buffy has no idea who the father is. I think you might be the first? To see that little detail. Next chapter I haven't done yet, but probably work on it tomorrow. Hopefully Spike/Buffy meet.

Still working on the setting...but I'm still in for the ride. Spike hopefully digging his way to freedom and Buffy and Xander rescuing an abused Oz...so far the demons in this world are all bad...are there going to be away gray areas I wonder...Buffy was obviously raped by someone/something and I'm sure you'll give us more details as you see fit...I'm certainly liking it so far...it's different, and that's all kinds of good in my book. No an unrelated note: the link for your lj in the authors profile doesn't work...thought I should point that out...I wanted to look you up, but couldn't :-)
Author's Response: I'm sort of known for doing different and my settings. Thank you for letting me know about the link, as I fixed it, and I added to my bio a bit, but heck, I don't say much about myself usually, I just put up story. At least if you follow that link you'll see the larger story art.
I'm not sure about greyer areas with the demons as of yet. They are pretty bad at the moment, and yes, you got what happened to Buffy. I deliberately am feeding the information quite slowly because I want it to unfold like a piece of origami. Anyway, that's all I've done and I did that all last week. I'll probably update it again after I update another story I'm working on today. Thank you for being so amazing. I think if not for you I might have just given up putting it here at all.

Okay, this is rather different and i've not read enough of it yet to form a solid oppinion of where it's going to lead me. It has si-fi overtones, which isn't too surprising for an alternative universe story, it's certainlly not the usual type of story I've seen posted here on the Spuffy Realm in the last year, but i'm vastly intrigued and really hope you'll stick it out and post whenever you can. I don't think I've read anything of yours before...and if this one chapter is the quality I can expect, then I'm sure I'm in for a good read. So far the story doesn't seem to have attracted too much attention, but I hope you won't let that put you off, as I belive it might just require a few more chapters added to come to the readers notice. Keep going pet, I'll read AND review...more soon please :-)

I'm glad you are intrigued, it has had a very strong response with those who know my work, so I'm fortunate. I put it here as an experiment, but possibly I/it won't fit in here and this isn't what spuffy readers want. That's okay, since I can't really control that. I can only write what I write, but I'm one up for having met you!
